2011 Fantasy Baseball Draft #2

Posted on: March 12, 2011 12:19 pm

Baseball's almost here! As promised here is the second fantasy squad that I drafted last evening. I posted my first team Hanley Time that I drafted last month for, and that team was part of a 10 Team H2H league. In that particular league I had the 3rd overall pick; however, last night when I drafted my second fantasy draft for Yahoo! I had the 10th overall pick in a 12 team H2H league. One other noticeable difference between last night and the February CBS Sports Draft was that every single team owner showed up to draft with the exception of one! They had informed the league owner that they wouldn't be there beforehand. It was an overall impressive showing and the draft took under an hour and a half to complete with 12 teams. It was an extreme change from the other draft where at most 3 team owners appeared at some point to pick their players and that was only 10 teams! Check out how I did drafting last night, and any thoughts or comments are welcome as always!

Thanks for the help. It's pretty cool that I didn't read your post until now, but also thought to add Morse earlier this morning. I thought he would be a good choice for some HR's too, and added him on Yahoo!:Mar 20 1:51am (Was - 1B,OF)  AddFree Agents
Thanks again.

Yeah, I will have to look into adding LaPorta or Venable. The others you mentioned were either drafted or picked up in Free Agency already. Thanks for the advice.

I really like your starting pitching, but I still think you need more power in your lineup.. Thinking of *cheap* sources of power like Matt LaPorta, Freddie Freeman, Ryan Raburn, that is, if they are still available. Love your pickup of Sean Rodriguez..  Another possible steal might be Will Venable (leadoff hitter, Padres) for steals.

Thanks for the comment! Yeah I didn't realize Brown was hurt, and then I waited too long to draft a 3B. I saw Stewart was listed as DTD but now realize that he start the season on the DL. Fortunately I have 2 DL slots in this league so I can pick up a few players in the meantime until they are fully healed. Thanks again for the advice.

i hope that you know that both domonic brown and ian stewart are going to start the season on the DL brown just had surgery on his hand or wrist forgot which one. but i know it's one of the two. i like your first 3 starting pitchers and i feel joe nathan will come back strong this season and am glad ppl are sleeping on him alexei ramirez is a good player but he starts off slow and really tends to heat up once the weather gets warmer so you may be better off starting castro to start the season. but besides that you did pretty good for a deeper 12 team league and good luck
