Sidney Crosby misses another practice

The possibility of Sidney Crosby returning to action may have diminished some when the Pittsburgh center missed today’s game-day skate due to doctor’s orders, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s Rob Rossi reports

"His workout regimen, the one he's gone through the last five days, continues to be all through the doctor," Pens coach Dan Bylsma said. "He's been working out off the ice ... and there hasn't been a change to his status."

Crosby hasn't been on the ice since Friday, although he is on the trip as the Pens’ first-round series moves to Tampa Bay for Game 3 tonight. Crosby was still scheduled to go through an off-ice workout today.

Crosby hasn’t played since early January due to a concussion. He was cleared to resume non-contact practices on March 30. Crosby needs to be cleared for full-contact practices, then games before he’ll be allowed to return to game action.

Sidney Crosby misses another practice

Very unfortunate for the Pens and the NHL. Still, I am very impressed at how the Pens have played w/out Crosby and Malkin. They have and continue to show great resilience.

You are an idiot for 2 reasons. First, concussions are a serious issue in sports right now and making light of it is assinine. Second, you just wish he was on your team.  Pure jealousy. Moonspell is just another hater.  You should be ashamed of yourself for comments.

At this point, Crosby is merely a decoy.  The Pens are going to ride this as far as they can as a way to keep the opposition "preparing" for him playing.  The more attention paid towards his potential return is less time spent figuring out how to beat the Pens as is.  In order to beat this Pens team, you are going to have to outwork, outhit and outheart them... IF you are able to do that, you still have to contend with Fleury standing on his head.  This may be the most dangerous Penguin TEAM in their recent return to success.  It wouldn't surprise me to see them playing for Lord Stanley's cup again.

If the Pens Can make it to the finals I think we could see Crosby in a few games. But yeah, I wouldn't bet on him coming back any earlier. If he does, good for him, if he doesn't then that's a sign that he needs the time to recover fully and not get another concussion agian and really see him out for a longer period of time.

You are a complete M-O-R-O-N if you think he is coming back this year. Sorry, it's not happening.

Sidney Crosby misses another practice

This is lazy reporting- I'd love to get paid to write 100 words that amount to "no update".  Dan Bylsma doesn't even like to comment anymore on the question.  Crosby will be back when he'll be back, IF he'll be back -- and it will be newsworthy then.  Until then, the Pens are doing fine without him.
