Boudreau doesn't think too highly of MSG

If Bruce Boudreau isn't familiar with a Bronx cheer, he soon will be.

Apparently the Capitals coach doesn't get the aura of Madison Square Garden. In an interview with a Washington radio station, Boudreau shared a few thoughts on the "World's Most Famous Arena." Here's betting he didn't make any friends in New York.

"Its reputation is far better than the actual building," Boudreau said in an interview on the station. "It's nothing. The locker rooms are horrible. The benches are horrible. There's no room for anything. But the reputation of being in Madison Square Garden is what makes it famous. Our building is a lot louder, too. They can say what they want, but it's not that loud in there."

Did you leave anything out, coach?

Apparently. Here's what he had to say about the Rangers' approach to Caps defenseman Mike Green, who just returned from an absence from concussion.

"It was to the side of the head, and it was a dirty shot. I hope the league looks at it," Boudreau said of a hit in Game 3 from Marc Staal. "That's exactly what we're trying to get out of the league and out of the game. Staal comes in, there's no puck, he takes his arm, he swings it at his head, but it's all forgotten because we score a goal to tie the game up.

"It shouldn't be forgotten and it wasn't the only time they targeted Mike's head."

As if the New Yorkers needed a reason to get more riled up. Just ask Pedro Martinez how it can be after saying anything bad about either New York or its teams.

MSG will surely be as loud as Boudreau has ever heard it before from here on out, especially if the Rangers are able to stay toe-to-toe with the Caps in the series. As for the other charges, well, they might be on target, but that won't matter much to the patrons. If he wants loud, he'll get it.

Torts can go 0-fer the rest of his coaching career- He will always have a Stanley cup on his resume ... whats on BB's resume?

This has nothing to do with the price of tea in China.
I'm glad you set your expectations for this series....now go away.

"This from a fat slob who spent half of HBO's 24/7 with bbq sauce or some such stuff smeared all over the corner of his mouth. Go back and watch it; it's plain as day. He's a pig. That said, I've worked in MSG and it's filthy inside and out, and not particulary loud."

So you completely dismiss everything he says while calling him a fat slob and a pig, but directly after, you go on to agree with it.  If he had a built physique, washboard abs, and a full head of hair, would his SAME EXACT words carry more weight?

What's really funny is his team is winning the series and he stirs the pot. The guy really is a fool. If they somehow choke away this series, he won't have to worry about visiting MSG. He'll be visiting the unemployment line.

The Garden is undergoing a renovation. Bruce won't be around to see how it will look in 3 years. He'll be coaching somewhere in Switzerland getting yodeled at by guys who are drunk on beer and stuffed with cheese. He just better hope they don't mistake him for a pig. I hear they get lonely in the mountains.

Bruce reminds me of an even fatter Dick Van Patten. Instead of 8 is enough, he's going to star in Seven's Enough. It will be the story of a fat, loser hockey coach whose team is always eliminated before the Stanley Cup Finals . I hear it will be on Versus.

MSG is extremely over-rated because when the playoffs come around all the real fans sit up in the blue section because its all they can afford. Same with Yankee Stadium and every other stadium in NY.
