Daniel Sedin guarantees victory, then backs off

VANCOUVER --- The Vancouver Canucks’ Sedin twins have been fairly anonymous through the first six games of the Stanley Cup Final.

Then came Daniel Sedin’s proclamation after the Canucks fell to the Boson Bruins, 5-2, in Game 6, setting up Wednesday’s decisive tilt.

"We're going to win Game 7," Daniel Sedin told the Vancouver Sun.

But hours before the decisive game at Rogers Arena, Daniel said he didn't meant for it to be a guarantee.

"That was probably me being excited and the words came wrong out of my mouth," Daniel said. "What I said was if we put our best game on the ice, I like our chances. That's the way it's been all year. When we play our best, we're a tough team to beat. We show that at home. We like our chances."

The home team has won each of the first six games of the series and the Canucks have baffled the Bruins' offense here, so there is some reason for confidence.

"If you don't believe that in this room, we're screwed," Daniel said. "We believe in ourselves here, and it's no different now. We should be proud of what we've done this year so far. Taking this to a Game 7, home ice advantage in the Stanley Cup finals, what else can you ask for?"

Vancouver coach Alain Vigneault was hardly upset at Daniel, who led the league in scoring with 104 points this season.

"What did you expect him to say?" Vigneault said. "Come on, we're in this to win. Daniel is one of our leaders on our group and he believes in the group and he expressed it. I think it's a normal thing to do at this time."

Biggest Choke Artists! Bruins easily!

Remember Flyers series last year-up 3-0 and lost! Only thing saving Bruins is goalie and every goalie can have a bad game. Thomas is OVERDUE,been lucky too many times in this series. Luck will run out tomorrow night! Say Bye,Bye Bruins! I do not like Vancouver either but Bruins are the choke team in the NHL!

Daniel Sedin guarantees Game 7 victory

Hmm Luongo or Thomas for game 7?  I wouldn't bet even $5 on this.  Bruins take this game in a blowout.

Daniel Sedin guarantees Game 7 victory

These types of predictions do not normally work out too well.  Hopefully he has more fight in him during game 7 then he did while getting repeated punched by Marchand last night.  I think that was D Sedin that just stood there and allowed the Bruin to rabbit punch him several times.  I loved the quote by marchand when asked why he punched him like that and the article I read his answer was "I wanted to", classic.

Daniel Sedin guarantees Game 7 victory

screw the Sedin Sisters, AlexandrA Burrows, Ryanna Kesler and Kelly Bieksa. All Boston has to do is score 1st and they will win game 7,. This is coming from a Hawks fan who is pulling for a Boston team for the 1st time in his life.

LuonGOAL is weak and is going to melt under pressure. The worst thing Borat could have done was be critical of Tim Thomas.

GO BRUINS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obviously a guy has to be confident. But why these foolish statements? What if you dont win Thelma? What if? Then you look stupid. Louise has it right...he said "we have to battle" No kidding. Your down in the series 19-8 in goals. Yeah Vancouver is 3-0 at home. All close games. Game 5 was somewhat all Vancouver. Nothing like the domination the Bruins laid on Vancouver in Boston..but a fairly uneven game.   The Bruins have the better goalie. The better coach. Vancouver has the talent. Which obviously doesnt mean everything. The Bruins never had their backs against the wall IN Vancouver. They do now. I like the Bruins to win game 7 4-2. LeBrongo..please ..PLEASE just keep your mouth shut. Do you realize LeBrongo how foolish you look after you: 1. Whine Thomas hasnt complimented you 2. You say you could make that save that Thomas let slip by.? He could probably stop a 40 foot wrist shot. You make asinine comments, then get pulled the next game. I couldnt help but laugh at you. You might win the Cup..its possible. But how are you going to feel if say Vancouver wins the cup..and the Conn Smythe goes to the goalie? Just not the winning one. I bet it will hurt. But..I think bostons winning it anyway 4-2. Either way..its been a fun series. I used to like Vancouver..but they were mostly unheard of..being from Boston. I liked Trevor Linden..but now? Ugh..Burrows, Laperrier, Luongo, Thelma and Louise? NOt so much anymore. Im sure you Canuck fans can all say Marchand is that way.

Bruins in 7!

Daniel Sedin guarantees Game 7 victory

Has there ever been a greater disappearing act in the finals by Hart/Art Ross trophy winners?
The Nucks do not deserve this when there best players are no shows and spend more time diving and embelishing hits then any other "superstars" to ever play the game.  It is embarrasing watching these two guys play.  No heart = No cup!!!
Go Bears.  Send these two girls home.

He's going to get flamed for that comment but honestly who goes into a game thinking about losing? You have to approach games with that kind of attitude or the game is over before it starts. But being a B's fan I do have to disagree with him though. :)
