Horton (and his gear) make trip to Vancouver

Boston Bruins forward Nathan Horton is in Vancouver and his equipment hung from his stall for Tuesday’s practice at Rogers Arena,  but coach Claude Julien said not to read much into that.

“That's something the guys wanted to do,” Julien said. “They wanted him to be part of our group here. Until the third game of the Final, he was a big contributor to our hockey club. If the doctors would let him, he would play tomorrow and we all know that that's the way he feels right now.”

Horton suffered a severe concussion in Game 3, a collision that resulted in the four-game suspension of Canucks defenseman Aaron Rome. He returned to TD Garden on Monday night where he received a standing ovation when he was shown on the video screen.

Julien said Horton, who the Bruins said last week would miss the remainder of the playoffs, still has not been cleared by doctors to return.

“He wants to play so badly, he would be willing to play through that,” Julien said. “So when a guy has that approach and has that will to want to do that for his team and teammates, the least you can do is honor him in your own way.”

Horton would likely be allowed to don his gear and join the Bruins for the team’s on-ice victory celebration if they win the Cup, not that the team will cop to thinking that far ahead. Bruins goalie Tim Thomas said the team is just happy to have Horton around .

“He's a positive guy,” Thomas said. “His joy for the game and life is kind of like a little kid, and that's a great thing and I personally feed off of that. So I was happy to see him today.”

I think I'll change that to COMATOSE CANADIANS.    Did you leave your balls at home tonight?   Obviously, you were still running your holes.   Bunch of classless fans with no respect booing during the whole postgame ceremony.   Nothing better than to beat you on your home ice......have a nice summer!

jedisthlord...people like you are why Americans have to sew Canadian flags on their backpacks when they tour the world.  Thats the most ignorant, misinformed, and just plain stupid comment I've read in a long time.

As for hockey....Go Bruins!!!!!!!!!!!! (because they're my favorite team, no other reason) I'd love to see Horton out there after the game with all his gear on holding the cup.

Obviously as a Wild fan I'm hoping the Canucks doesn't win tonight.  That said, either way as long as the game is good, clean and close I'll be a happy Hockey fan!

Here's hoping for an OT game that represents OUR sport well!

For those of you that want this to be about country represention, PLEASE!!! stop.  Hockey was created in Canada; the NHL is over half made up of Canadians, but is truly an international sport.  The Captains for both teams are from Europe (Sedin and Chara) and it could be argued that the best players on both of these teams are American (Kessler and Thomas).  The best players in the world come from so many different countries now that not one country can claim it as "their" game.

GO HOCKEY!!!

Who cares about whether your Canadian or American. The olympics already happened and Canada won. I guess you all forgot this is the NHL, If Boston wins it will be great for New England or any B's fan around the globe and that's it. If The Canucks win it will be great for BC and any Vancouver fan. You all got it twisted, with this national pride stuff. Plus need I remind you, both countries are pretty great in their own right.

People on both sides getting into this USA vs. Canada thing need to get a clue. It's a stupid and irrelevant conversation.

Obviously, I'm rooting for the Bruins, but good luck to everyone. Let's hope for a good, clean game with no regrets.
