Kids' postgame handshake erupts into brawl

Line brawls are always a hit in hockey, aren't they? Fans love fights, so how about five fights all at once? Maybe even 20 fights all at once after something like the postgame handshake?

If that's your sort of thing, consider this your lucky day. Because in Kazakhstan, two teams made up of 9-year-olds -- yes, only 9 years old -- decided to carry their hostilities to the postgame handshake.

For a little more context, here's the description of the video posted on YouTube.

This is my 9-year-old brother's team Kokshetau -- Burabay (green) fighting against the team from the capital city of Kazakhstan -- Astana (white). Even though team Astana won against Burabay 5:3, they started talking crap to their opponents during hand shakes; so the capitan of Burabay's team could not just let it go and started the fight.

Here's the result:

It's not exactly the brawl between two Turkish teams, but for a few fleeting moments it's pure chaos. Order is easily and quickly restored, however, when the adults threaten to take away the kids' postgame snacks.

Here's a quick geography tip on Kazakhstan: It's more than the home of Borat. Current NHLers Evgeni Nabokov and Nik Antropov call the country home, too.

Wait what? Are you guys seriously dogging on the crowd for cheering? It's hockey. A sport that allows (even encourages) fighting with nothing more than a 5-minute time out. Having your kid play hockey is immedietly sending the message that fighting is OK. This is why I will never take my boys to a hockey game despite being a season ticket holder for the Lightning myself. I enjoy the game, but fightning with no consequence doesn't sit right with me and things like this are exactly why.

The morons clapping and cheering at the end should be ashamed of themselves, cheering 9yr old kids fighting each other AFTER the game has finished. Makes you despair for the kids being brought up by those idiots

Why is the crowd, presumably made up of family and friends of the players, actually cheering for this fight?  Nice message, play a game against your friends and at the end get in a fight, what parent wouldn't be proud?  And we wonder why kids behave the way they do, look at the shining examples they have for parents.

I heard Xavier and Cincinnati have already offered scholarships to five or six of the kids.

That no.10 in the green is a real cheap shot artist, he was punching that kid in the head while he was fighting someone else.

So the one kid on the white team breaks out of the handshake line, just in time for the kid on the green team to notice this, and then that's when he goes after the kid that broke the line. Doesn't look like antone got hurt , so not a big deal.

To me, the most interesting part was the cheering from the stands you hear in the background. I'm not sure if it's hilarious or disturbing.
The cheering is disturbing.  Looked like the coaches/refs did a good job of stopping that non-sense quickly.  Was kind of funny to see these kids fighting though.

Xavier - Cincinnati has nothing on this. Is this what sports has come down to? Thats a shame.
