The Preds captain is likely to be in the lineup on Thursday night when Nashville hosts the Dallas Stars. It's an interesting game for Weber to return in for it was a hit from the Stars' Mark Fistric that left Weber concussed. How it didn't receive supplemental discipline is beyond me (the league said there was not enough visual evidence).
Obviously his presence is a big lift for the Predators. He might just be the favorite to win the Norris Trophy this year as the league's top defenseman. He's one of Nashville's biggest offensive producers despite the fact that he plays on the blue line. In short, he's really good and what team doesn't like to get its really good players back?
Then again, it's not like the Predators have struggled much since Weber's been gone. They are 3-1 in the four games that Weber hasn't played, including wins in three consecutive games.
It's just nice to write about guys returning from concussions these days after writing so often about players sustaining concussions.
