Chances are when you have played over 800 games in your NHL career, there will be moments you will remember forever. There will also be some you hope nobody else will remember.

Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle can certainly attest to all of that. Especially after contributing another one to the blooper reel last night in the win over the Stars.

"Fires on the lifeboat!" What an excellent line.

Making it even worse for Boyle (maybe) is the fact that this goal ended the franchise-record shutout streak the Sharks had going at the time. It ended at 190:51.

You might recall this isn't the first time Boyle has struck his own goal. It happened two seasons ago in a much, much worse spot. As in overtime of a playoff game against the Avalanche.

"I got a couple bounces off a couple shin pads and just kind of swatted at it, trying to get it out of harm's way," Boyle explained afterward. "[Stuff] happens. But it's a little easier to swallow this one than the last one."

Officially, the goal went to Steve Ott, unassissted.

Boyle had 75K on the over, they already had a good lead.
