Still no timetable for Crosby return

There was some buzz coming out of Montreal on Monday morning as Penguins captain Sidney Crosby joined his teammates for practice at the Bell Centre ahead of Tuesday's game with the Canadiens. And while it appears that he's inching closer to returning to the lineup, he's still not quite there yet and there remains no timetable for his return.

Crosby said after the session, via Sam Kasan of the Penguins, that he will continue to skate by himself when the team returns to Pittsburgh this week and that he is still not yet symptom free, and that once he is, he will return.

So in other words: there's not much new regarding his status, other than that he practiced with the team as opposed to skating on his own.

In other injury news for the Penguins, head coach Dan Bylsma said that center Jordan Staal could return to the lineup within the next five to 10 days, which would be a huge addition to their lineup. He plays some of the toughest minutes on the team on a nightly basis, and was also having one of the best goal-scoring seasons of his career prior to his knee injury against the New York Rangers last month.

Forward Tyler Kennedy, who was injured in the closing minutes of Sunday's 5-2 loss in New Jersey, is also returning to Pittsburgh to have his lower body injury re-evaluated.

Still no timetable for Crosby return

"What we do know for sure is when Crosby is healthy, there aren't 5 players on the Leafs Burke could package in a trade for Crosby that Shero would spend 5 minutes thinking about"

Crosby's career is over, whether its this year or next!! NOBODY CARES.................... I wouldnt trade a 3rd round pick to pitsberg for crosby, because no matter how good he plays for the time hes back  HIS CAREER IS OVER............. he lives in a glass house, is a huge whiner, and crys like a baby when he gets hit.............. everyone loves hating on leafs fans!!!!    next time keep your opinions to yourself cause you sound liek and are a complete moron

Still no timetable for Crosby return

this needs to stop, nobody cares enough to see an article a day on his return. hes not coming back anytime soon. and when he does come back he will not be back for long, hes as fragile as a single paned glass house

Amazing !!  The Leafs look like they MIGHT make the playoffs for the first time in 7 years and suddenly Leaf fans are all over these boards talking nonesense like this guy.  Unbelievable man...

Nobody knows when Crosby is going to play or how healthy he's going to be.  What we do know for sure is when Crosby is healthy, there aren't 5 players on the Leafs Burke could package in a trade for Crosby that Shero would spend 5 minutes thinking about.  Burke would have to include half his team and agree to leave Toronto and be Shero's bit**.

Still no timetable for Crosby return

Enough of this nonesense, shut the kid down for the year for God sakes.  He's had 2 concussions, at least one was very serious and a problem with his neck as well.  He's too young to screw around with, let him rest and get treatment until September and hopefully he can be fully healed and ready to roll for the 2012-2013 season.

This isn't about hockey anymore.  If Crosby comes back too soon as way too many athletes do, he could be in big trouble for the rest of his life.  It's not like they've solved his issues with surgery and everything is healed, these are injuries that take a while.  I'm shocked they are still talking about Crosby and surprised they haven't officially shut him down for the rest of the season and playoffs.

Still no timetable for Crosby return

Who cares, let me know when he's coming back. Other than that stop writing about him. Oh by the way today he had a turkey sandwich for lunch and played video games.

Still no timetable for Crosby return

Tired of hearing about Crosby.  His career is most likely over, its ashame, he was a talented player, but there are plenty of good players in the league that can handle the physical play involved with hockey, let's focus on those guys.

Still no timetable for Crosby return

Good News if the symptoms were soft tissue neck injury which look like , and are similar to Head Injury Concussions. Then you just treat the soft tissue injury, and take it easy coming back. Bad news for my Bruins, but its good for hockey, and I do want to see the Bruins beat the best out there, now that they have the cup. It looks like whoever comes out healthiest in both the East and West, has a good shot. There will blood this year in the East and the West with all contending teams improving markedly. You hate to be Vancouver in the west with so many teams vying for the honors to take that team out, and leave bodies in its wake. They have a mark on there heads that is unenviable. Oh, the second thing Crosby does is Lose the Medical staff, and Doctors they have on in Pittsburgh. I think i'm not far off in saying , Crosby might be lucky to be alive, or able to walk. He might even reconsider coming back this year. No matter what the rules, everyone is still taking people out like heat seeking missiles.
