Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara just doesn't seem to have a whole lot of luck playing in Montreal.

You don't really need a reminder of what happened last season, but just remember how he checked Max Pacioretty and sent the Canadiens forward into the stanchion, resulting in a broken neck. It got so ugly that Montreal police debated for a long while whether or not to press charges on Chara or not. Eventually the answer was no.

As a result -- and being the Bruins captain -- they aren't fond of Chara in Montreal, the Habs fans aren't. So it shouldn't surprise that the Habs fans at the Bell Centre on Wednesday night experienced a little schadenfreude when Chara took a puck to the face.

It was an errant clearing attempt from Tomas Plekanec that caught Chara up high and left him bloodied. While Plekanec was checking up on Chara, the crowd was releasing some pent-up frustration.

Some are going to call it Montreal Typical of the fans to cheer an injury, no matter the player and trash the Habs fans. I've already seen plenty of it. But it's a bit understandable. Fans take it personally when players are injured on their favorite teams and they feel like the offender got away with it. It doesn't quite sit right with me to cheer an injury, but it's understandable.

Chara did return in the game, but his luck didn't get much better. He made an awfully careless play in his own end that led to Erik Cole's equalizer before the Bruins eventually won in a shootout.

Montreal fans are the biggest sports scums on the earth. They cheer injuries. They boo national anthems. They also embrace their players diving all over the ice to draw penalties. The organization has fallen very far from it's pedastal. Yes they still own the most championships but how many have you won lately? Montreal is finished for a very very long time! The team that is out there is efn terrible. You have a joke of a coach! You have a joke running the main office! You only have two good players in Price and Subban and they will be gone as soon as they can get the hell out of that hellhole! Enjoy your crap team Montreal fans because it's crap just like you!

Very typical Canada fans. Part of the reason is living so close to the Arctic Circle does some crazy things to ones mind. The other reason is that they feel they "own" hockey. Thye used to but not anymore. Montreal has seriously lost their hockey edge and chances are their dominacein the sport is over....forever.

c2ways, whether it would happen or not is a matter of debate since it hasn't happened. If the best you can do to defend this is offer up a hypothetical strawman argument, you've already lost.

Also, don't act like reporting this is an example of poor journalism on the part of CBS Sports, because every sports website I've looked at has a story about it.

I know there are classless fans within every fanbase, but Montreal Canadiens fans have demonstrated more than once that a rather large portion of them lack any class at all. Booing national anthems, getting the government and authorities involved in an on-ice incident to the point they were threatening to arrest a hockey player for a hit they didn't like, cheering when a guy is bleeding on the ice after getting hit in the face with a puck.....real nice.

There is no way Bruins fans cheer if Subban gets a puck in the face.

No way.

Like the B fans wouldn't cheer if Subban took a puck to the melon. CBS does a wonderful job of stirring the pot for no good reason - Gomez argues with Ladoucer at practice, Marchand was drunk last year after winning the cup - my what impressive journalism...
