As the old song goes, Christmas is supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year. But for me it's now. Lots of things going on when the calendar makes it way around to the middle of March. And not a moment too soon. When you combine the college basketball tournaments (and yes the Wildcats should have gotten a higher seed), opening day for baseball just around the corner, and weather is nice enough to get the golf clubs out of the garage on some days, who could ask for anything more. Having lived in Kentucky all my life, tournament time is always a special time. From the high school level all the way to the NCAA's, post-season tournaments always bring out the best in athletes, coaches, and fans alike. I also cannot wait for Opening Day and seeing the Reds take the field in those crisp white uniforms and bright red caps. I begin looking forward to the first game I attend in person when I can smell the hotdogs and beer in the air. And when I can stand there on a green for a second before I line up my put for birdie (well, maybe atleast par) and let the sun beam down on my face and listen to the birds singing their spring songs... no wonder I hate winter so much.
