When Golf Channel announced over the weekend that Tiger Woods would make a special announcement Monday morning in an exclusive interview, there was speculation that he would discuss his relationship with Anthony Galea, the Toronto physician who once counted Woods as a client, and who pleaded guilty last week to bringing misbranded drugs into the United States.

Instead, the announcement was that his agent was joining a new company (apparently, the initial report of actual news was erroneous).

But Tiger could have used the opportunity to again defend himself from charges that Galea may have supplied him with performance-enhancing drugs, something Rod Personius, who represents Galea's former assistant Mary Anne Catalano, did Monday night. In an email to the New York Daily News, Personius said, "I tell you categorically that Tiger did NOT receive either banned or performance enhancing drugs when treating with Dr. Galea."

Woods admitted earlier this month that Galea, who doesn't have a license to practice medicine in the United States, had previously treated him at his Florida home, but denied that he ever took performance-enhancing drugs. Galea has also treated Alex Rodriguez, Jose Reyes and Carlos Beltran.

"Tiger willingly spoke to the authorities and cooperated fully," Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, said in an email to the Associated Press in late June. "It was confirmed that because he did nothing illegal, he is not the subject of any criminal investigation. Because there is an ongoing investigation involving others, there will be no further comment." According to the Daily News, at a news conference in April just before the Masters, Woods said the feds had contacted Steinberg about Galea and pledged his "full cooperation."

Woods will miss the British Open, which begins Thursday, as he continues to recover from a knee injury that also kept him out of the U.S. Open last month.

Casey Anthony who lives in Orlando said she knows Tiger very personally and she knows he never took steroids. So there! Now we know Casey wouldn't lie.

funny that ba_bah would use pitchers as his comparison for Tiger. Picthers were/are some of the heaviest users of PEDs. That said, I agree his knee is a problem because of the torque he put on his body. His back is not far behind and many analyists called this years ago. He is a supremely flexible person, and strangely strong too, but he most probably needed to find a way to stay in the gym which is what PEDs will do for you. You recover faster, thus get back in sooner.

I do not think Tiger is washed up at all. It will be like riding a bike for him once his body is feeling well and he is not full of guilt, and I have a feeling he will find a way to releive himself of the guilt. There was study done once measuring guilt levels in high powered executives and they found that most of these succesful people have an ability to remove guilt, fear, self-doubt etc...whihc enables them to over-power "normal" people. That is not for me, but for some, it works fine. That is who I believe Tiger was trained to be by his dad years ago...thus, riding the bike comment.

All this aside, I am excited for the Open starting tomorrow! I would love to see Phil win just to win another major but there is a golfer that I think might be done winning majors. I'd like to see one final push from he and Tiger, but I have been waiting for David Duval to come back too...c'mon David, you can do it!

Report: Lawyer says Tiger never got PEDs from Dr.

Sometime a decade or so ago, a chef opened an exclusive restaurant in Nice, France. This particular chef was reknowned for making a dish that no other chef in the world could provide. Those who could afford it swore that the dish was the best on the earth. They recommended the restaurant to all of their well heeled friends. The richest people in the world began coming to Nice to try the exotic dish. After a time there was a three month waiting list for reservations. The price for the dish was exorbitant, but kings and world leaders flocked to Nice just to get a taste of it. A friend of mine sought out the chef and waited a full three months for reservations. Upon returning from France, I anxiously awaited his review of the dish. He said that unlike everyone else, he didn't try the dish, and opted for a burger and fries. Incredulous, I exclaimed,  how could you spend all of that money, wait three months, fly to France, but yet not eat the dish? The dish is the ONLY reason to go to that restaurant. This is what the chef does. It is his claim to fame. There is no logical reason to spend the money to go that restaurant unless you are eating the dish. Anybody could make burgers and fries. He simply said, "Nope, never tried it. And I've got a witness that will testify that I never tried it". And that folks makes no sense at all.

Anybody besides me getting tired of all this PED crap.  I know its cheating, I have been there......  Sports were more exciting when everybody was juiced up weren't they.  No home run races, no sack records, no 7 time Tour De France winners.  BORING!!

***It wasn't boring to watch a player battle
day in and day out finish the season with a .310
BA; 30-35 HRs; and, 115 RBIs.

They worked like hell for these numbesr, but now
these cheats--and this is exactly what they are--
take PED's that give the world a false impression
these stats.

They throw up greatly inflated numbers that rob
from the honest and devalue their hard work.

Tiger is washed up physically and emotionally.  Kind of reminds me of a punch drunk fighter hanging around hoping to get a title shot.  The press wil hound this guy forever as a riches to rags story.

Don't give me that "all this torque is hard on his knees" bullcrap. 80 YEAR OLD MEN AND WOMEN PLAY THIS GAME YOU MORONS!! Quit drinking Tiger's Koolaid and stop worshipping a dying god. His career is finished, his "moral legacy" is finished and it's time to leave him be. He was a golfer-nothing more. A greatly flawed human being and petulant athlete. But hey, at least made like, $60 million last year by corporations who value people like that.

Well, that settles it.  Throw common sense out the window.  If a lawyer said it, it must be true.
