It wasn’t hard to tell that Negus Webster-Chan was close to making a decision.

Two weeks ago, Webster-Chan told that Missouri and Iowa State were his favorites, and he was hoping to make a decision within a month.

On Friday morning, he was ready to commit: the Canadian small forward chose Missouri.

“It was important that the school I chose gave me the best opportunity to showcase my abilities while playing multiple positions,” Webster-Chan said in a statement to Flagrant Fouls, a Canadian scouting service. “It was also important for me to have a great relationship with the coaching staff on and off the court.

“Coach Frank Haith and his staff have developed a good relationship with my family and myself.”

Webster-Chan is a 6-foot-7 small forward from Huntington Prep (W.Va.) who uses his length and athleticism to score effectively on drives to the rim. His shooting is getting more consistent, but he needs to add weight and bulk in order to better absorb contact on his finishes. Webster-Chan is also a capable passer and an aggressive defender.

He had previously committed to Louisville, but the two parted ways in April.
