Zipping the lips

Nothing like two bad losses in a row (one really bad) to shut up a zealot. I'll take my lumps, but I know we'll be back. A loss at home to previously winless Minnesota and then a just plain butt-kickin' at Ohio State. Maybe these losses were what we needed in the long run. But there's nothing, really, that I can say.

Zipping the lips

Thanks, John.  I'll check it out. But as I am so fond of quoting myself, "I'm a fan, not an armchair coach" that I don't know if I could hold my own with people who are what I'm not: I am not a student of the game, insomuch as I haunt statistical archives, and the like. I do remember thngs, but sometimes very "individually" and "personally". For instance, in my shock, disbelief, and, (fan's)  pain at my Hoosiers' "bad" loss at OSU that I had "forgotten" to acknowledge that IU had actually outscored OSU in the 2nd half.  I haven't checked the box scors for the Minnesota game, yet

But really, i WILL check the site out. I am a reired English teacher, Hooiser native, and Navy veteran who lives in San Diego. Makes it rather hard to ever go to a game.

Hey IU,

There's a website called Dailybigten.  I just got a 'job' blogging about MSU.  If you're interested, I bet they'd take you to cover some IU stuff.  It's non paying, but it's also non pressure.  The site is dailybigten.com.  Check them out.  It's a pro looking site.

Zipping the lips

I wish I knew how to get my opinions into the mainstream around here, but i don't. So i'll just limp along. I was shocked by IU's loss at OSU. I was embrarrassed by my braggadacio. The game brought back to reality. I was so blown away, though, that i didn't erealize that IU actually outscored the Buckeyes in the second half. Time to pull my head out of the old' Ostriche Syndrome. Go HOOSIERS!

Yeah, I know. But I just had to acknowledge that I had been a pretty obnoxious zealot. Being a fan, I often get blinded by my enthusiasm. The Hoosiers did play like the proverbial "deer in the headlights" at Ohio State. They're a young team (only 3 seniors?), so they are bound to make young team mistakes. But as I said, i did want to acknowlege my boorish behavior. I'll try to keep things in proper perspective. I appreciate the note.

IU's not a bad team because they lost a couple of games.  I'm sure they'll rebound and end up in the upper division of the Big 10 (I'd guess 4th or 5th) and qualify for the tourney as a 5 seed.  From there, it's up to them.  The Big 10 is tough.  We lost at NW.  The winner will have 4 or 5 conference losses.
