Here we go again ...

More new football uniforms from Oregon. I believe this is the 39th time Oregon has updated or changed their uniforms in the past decade. It's getting a little out of control.

The press release states:

Nike designers have made advancements from Oregon's last update in 2006, which featured uniforms that were more durable and 28-percent lighter than the previous generation. The latest editions have improved ergonomics and ventilation characteristics, and feature laminate numbering that does not soak up any moisture and has an 85-percent weight differential compared to traditional tackle twill.

Laminate anti-abrasion shoulder reinforcement, in the form of wings, takes the place of "diamond plate" on the current jersey, a 200-percent savings in weight differential between materials.

Translation -- No more tire tracks on the shoulders. The jerseys now have wings. (Get it, Ducks have wings.)

But my favorite part is Oregon now has 80 different combinations (jersey/pants/helmet) at their disposal. That's insane.

With most of the Oregon uniform changes, I think they are awful. Here are the pics for 2009. What do you think?

Personally, I liked these uniforms back in the day.

as a fellow Duck, I love you. People forget... the University of Oregon produced Phil Knight, made him the businessman he is, and deserves to reap those rewards. Go Ducks.

USC is classic. Oregon is cutting edge. Both are respectable... although 47-20 may mean that, yeah, the wings work.

... theres really nothing cool about Ducks themselves. We have to make our own cool, and I think the wings do nicely. Seems to me like duck fans love them, and duck-neutrals or duck-haters hate them.

I lIke them. I started out skeptical, but the whole "We Earn Our Wings Every Game" slogan now makes more sense. The wings are now as much a symbol of Oregon Athletics as the O is, and I think they're intimidating. To be honest.

Kids love Oregons' uniforms. For the majority of kids playing college ball, their uniforms will be one of their most cherished items. Now, imagine having 80 of them..........Winning Ugly.

Personally, I love their intergration of so many colors. Fans can wear whatever they want, it's all good.

I don't think it is such a bad thing for all the uniform changes and personnally I like all the combinations, the grey looks the best for all these new changes they have put together.  If I was a young kid they didn't know much about sports and seen the Ducks playing a game on television I would watch and probably become a fan for the simple fact that their jerseys are cool looking.  I just hope this isn't a trend that is going to take place with others teams in college sports.  I am a lover of UK basketball and the new jerseys they came out with last year were awesome

its pretty hilarious that the ducks are this attention starved. they think that by having so many uniforms that it will attract five star recruits to their self anointed powerhouse program. they use all of uncle phils money for this crap yet they dont get the results they seek because they have national championship as there goal every year but they have only played in one bcs bowl game ever. just like oregon state has played in one. kinda funny isnt it duck fan, you talk about how much of a better program you are than us at oregon state yet we have a better winning percentage the last 9 years and we have a better bowl winning percentage as well. you cant buy results although you did try against oklahoma at home and your fat retarded announcer joe gee im a douch bag(giansante) called that a monumental win in your programs history. keep gettin new god awful unifroms and keep talkin national championship but you will never ever be a factor in the nc race ever

First off the carbon helmet looks pretty awesome, so that's an improvement.  As a duck fan, I am a little embarassed about the addition of the wings.  It's enough that the school colors are bright yellow and green, I would say minimal decoration is a no-brainer here.  I think they were hoping to create something in the vein of michigan's helmets but for the jersey, how bout a little subtlety here.  Either way, go ducks, but this is a step backwards from what were some of the best uniforms in college football.  Still nice, but not better.
