Who needs Pete Carroll?

Things are looking up at USC again on Signing Day as the Trojans are primed for another big recruiting class. MaxPreps.com has USC in its Top 5 with a haul of six players ranked in the MaxPreps.com Top 100 and four High School All-Americans.

Robert Woods is the No. 6 ranked player, while Kyle Prater is ranked No. 19. The Trojans also got some more good news this morning, as Markeith Ambles signed with USC after giving a verbal to Tennessee last year.

And at 5:30 p.m. live on CBS College Sports, USC got a commitment from No. 1 recruit Seantrel Henderson. The offensive lineman, who was MaxPreps.com's top-rated player, picked the Trojans over Minnesota, Notre Dame, Florida, Miami and Ohio State.

You can watch USC's Signing Day news conference today at 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS College Sports XXL.

USC snags another huge recruiting class

While I hate to admit it (since I support anythign that can bring integrity to the game and to anyone walking the planet with me) the probation thing does nto really matter much UNLESS that probation includes TV sanctions. Bowl or no bowl - NC or no NC, they are going to be seen and known. SC is a great and respected program for the players it turns out. They may not all be top NFL players, but #1 pick flops are not the exclusive right of any program. I have great hopes for the future at SC. I hope taht the writing is clear enough and that playing simply as a step to the NFL is put in second place. I am as disapointed at the last few years in everyting except for the winning percentage. Perhaps that is the issue. I have lived through many years of narrowly and not-so-narrowly losing to ND and the rest, and I love kicking their @#&#S year after year, and I am VERY excited about the signings today - but this is about the program and about the hope that Kiffin can restore some integrity. FIGHT ON for respect, honor and integrity, that is why they call us Trojans, isn't it?

USC looking at another huge recruiting class

For all those non-USC fans, get over your own insecurities, so what if Lane Kiffin left Tennessee.  Tennessee will never be a top Ten team as long as Florida, Alabama. LSU, Auburn & Georgia are in the same conference.  Lets remember this a $100+million business and your going to go where you will have a higher level of success and THAT was not going to happen in Tennessee.  No one chastise Brian Kelly after he repeatedly say he would stay at Cincinnati as long as they would have him and he bolted, Coaches will always leave based on the money involved and the prestige of the University and UINVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA has a much more prestigous reputation IN FOOTBALL than Tennessee and as long as the above mentioned SEC school are succeeding.  Let's allow coaches to live and die by their own sword.  Lane and Orgeron have had success in recruiting and that will continue, so let each University trump their own success and the results will reflect on the field.

USC looking at another huge recruiting class

Are we bitter cacuse USC owns us if you want to call people out because they leave programs early ok go ahead call out just about every college coach who gets a better offer or the job they have always wanted but to call out the kids for going where they get an offer to play where they want or the parents because they send the kids. I guess for you it would be ok as long as the kids are Buckeyes. Now about Kiffin you may not like him  or respect him but you got admit he can recruit he brought some really good players to SC and Tenn. he got the Vols program at least off its face and trying to stnd they came close to beating Ala. and Fla. even if the fans in Tenn refuse to say it it brought respectablity to the team they were not a push over.As for probation ou might want to wait and see what happens.

USC looking at another huge recruiting class

Why would anyone want to sign with USC when they will go on probabtion? It must be the nice signing bonus they will get!

Such clairvoyance, and to answer your question, it's still better than playing for a loser like ND who happens to be, and will continue to be SC's beotch (probation or not)....lmao at these children. An obvious slow day on the irish board.

Just more evidence that the teenage brain isn't fully developed.  Who would want to play football for a sleazeball like Lane Kiffin?  The man is totally lacking in class, and devoid of integrity.  You have to also wonder what is wrong with the parents, that they would feel good about having their child play for an individual like Kiffin.  Some role model.    I wouldn't follow the guy across the street.  Throw in the fact that he has shown himself to be a mediocre coach and that USC may well be put on probation and you really have to wonder.
