Official NFL team bloggers needed!

Anybody out there going to be blogging about their favorite team on a regular basis?

We're hoping to get together a list of "Official Team Bloggers" to feature with other content relating to your teams.

For example: If the Packers face the Vikings, we'll try to use links to both of those official blogs along with the major game coverage, including previews, recaps and columns by our writers.

We're definitely not asking anyone out there to write on set schedule or anything, but if you were going to be regularly blogging anyway, this is a great chance to get your work out there to a much bigger and much broader audience. Basically, it's just another way to feature and promote our outstanding Community.

Ideally, OTB's would be Community members who are solid writers, and who plan on blogging about most of their team's games and other major team events.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, throw your hat in the ring on this thread, and I'll keep an eye on your blog over the next couple weeks. After that, I'll notify anyone who becomes an official team blogger.

Thanks for your time!

- Joe

Official NFL team bloggers needed!

I'm just curious as to whether an official Dolphin's blogger has been selected so I can quit bothering you about it. I'm a year round Dolphin fan not just an in-season fan. As I said before, even if I'm not selected, I'd like whatever input you can give me so I can build a "following". It doesn't seem as if any of the Dolphin's writers have one so maybe the "official" tag helps someone.

I just got my ranking up high enough to start my blog and, as I said in my previous comment to you, I'd love to do a dedicated Dolphin's blog. I'm doing it anyway whether it's official or not. i made my first post a couple of days ago and will post at least every 4 days or so and more if there's big news or happenings with the Dolphins. Check it out if you get a chance. Any advice or comments is welcome.

North Harbour.... As I said above, this one is just for the NFL (I'd better go back and edit my original post). I do know that there a lot of great posters on the NBA board, though, and we will probably be on the lookout for more official bloggers as that season approaches.

As far as Freeman goes... That decision is over my head and out of my control, so I really can't comment on it.

I'm an avid reader and occasional writer on Sportsline, and I remember participating in a Contest for March Madness earlier this year.. I could write for the Jaguars, my local team, or the Packers, my favorite team... In fact, that would be something I would be interested in doing.
Also, Does being a Top 10 Member help at all?  I doubt it, but hey, can't blame a guy for trying.
You're simply going to keep an eye on our blogs for the next couple of weeks prior to making decisions, correct? If so, I guess I'll start blogging this week, then.

Sounds good, I'll keep an eye on your blog. Just keep in mind, that "occasional writer" tag may have to disappear. We need people who will be able to do this about once a week.

Sircheeks -  Fan reaction and opinion is definitely what it's all about. As far as the format goes, casual is fine... is long as there's still some basic writing format and punctuation. It does have to clear and easy to read.

Oh yeah.. and I'd just like to add.. I don't like how controversial Mike Freeman is, either.. I simply understand the reasoning behind his occupational retainment by CBSSports.  Also, if many didn't know, Freeman has been very dishonest in the past... He was forced to resign from the Indianapolis Star after they found that he claimed a Degree, on his rèsumè, from the University of Delaware that he hadn't earned. He acknowledged that he lied. Anyways, that's Mike Freeman, a very controversial writer...

Is this just for the NFL or are you doing this for the other sports as well?

I'm interested though.....got to dust off the old blog.

This one is just for NFL, but we've already done one for the men's college basketball tournament. Eventually, though, we would like to do one for all the sports.

If you're interested, I'll check out your blog over the next few days and let you know if you get the spot.

Thanks!

Just would like to add my honest opinion on the Mike Freeman question. Many readers agree that Freeman authors many controversial articles, however, journalism isn't always about pleasing the audience, it's also about grabbing attention. When Freeman authors such controversial articles, the boards go crazy, and he knows that means he's generated a buzz.. Whether that's a positive or negative interest, CBSSports doesn't care, because that's interest either way.. That's internet traffic, which drives advertising revenue.. The more traffic, (Whether they're reading it because they love it, or they completely disagree and want to respond to it), the higher the advertising revenue. That, I wholeheartedly believe, is the reason they've not only kept Mike Freeman, but he was promoted to National Columnist a while back. He does his job.
