How to Play:

It's simple, really. Look at the sports-related pictures above, and give us your funniest caption for any or all of them. You can write as many captions for each as you would like.

The contest runs daily, Monday-Thursday. Each day's contest will usually be posted by noon ET, and will usually end around 11 p.m. ET. If I decide that your caption is the funniest or most clever submitted for that picture, it will be declared a winner.

Winning captions will be announced when the contest ends. There will be one winner for each picture, and also one winner for the person who can string together the 5 best captions all with the same theme.

You will be awarded one point for each winning caption that you post. You will see a running tally on the scoreboard, which will be posted at the beginning and end of each day. At the end of each month a champion is declared, and we shower that user in praise and adulation! We add his screenname to the Wall-O-Fame, and then we start everyone's score back at 0.

This contest is just for fun, and there are no real prizes at this time. Who thinks they can make us laugh? :)

1) Jeter has been greeting all his former teammates with a warm embrace this season, although Giambi in particular found Derek's greeting of "Hey, how are you doing, guy who is not A-Rod?" rather bizarre.

2) New York Ranger fans are starving for a return to glory, but few approved of the acquisition of Sean Avery, more or less the clause that allows him to pick the intermission entertainment routines.

3) Even the goats can hardly stay awake when they hear Cubs fans complain these days.

4) 3! That's 3 career goals! That's gotta be some kind of all time soccer record or something!

5) Listen, you all know darn well that the other team is in violation of handball rule 10.1.4 section b regarding the use of improperly checked-in substitutes. If we don't follow the rule book, what are we doing with our lives as professional handballers, wasting them???

2) Rhythmic gymnastic duo Jack and Rod perform at the spring Nationals. Here, Jack prepares for the extremely difficult reverse two and a half tea bag maneuver.

1) Despite Giambi being back in Oakland, Jason Giambi and Derek Jeter openly display the bromance that was fostered during Giambi's time in the Big Apple.

5) Porkchop McGee, the first enforcer in the sport of handball, has revolutionized the game and broadened the appeal.

  1. I would have believed the Greco-Roman wrestling excuse more if they would have dropped their gloves and quit smiling so much.
  2. Being a circus performer takes strength, agility, and the ability to tolerate wearing body makeup while showing off your "shortcomings" to the world.
  3. Cubs fans still don't understand that the phrase "get your goat" is not to be taken literally.  And don't expect to get them into the game without their own ticket.
  4. "Special" Ed Thomas celebrates his third goal and...wait a minute,,.Hey #11, get that right hand out of your shorts.  You'll get a yellowcard if you don't.
  5. Team handball love triangles always end up in arguments about the size of the balls.

1. It's amazing the comradery that comes from sharing thong underwear.
2. While Golden Girls quickly became an all-time TV classic, the show Golden Guys was just, well, creepy.
3. Like the dogs rescued from Michael Vick's farm, many of the goats rescued from Tom Brady's "ranch" have gone on to good homes, where the .
4. Midfielder Oscar Wellington expressed his shock after his team scored it's third goal of the season on Monday. The new record shatters the previous mark of two, and many soccer experts are already calling it "unbreakable".
5. "I can't believe you brought this undersized Nerf soccer ball to a scrimmage again, Steve! You think the German national team uses junk like this!? Hell no! And those guys scored three goals this year! You can't become an offensive juggernaut like that when you're using inferior equipment!"

#1 -- Giambi clamped up when Jeter went for the open-mouthed lip lock.  To which Jeter retorted: "What?  Back in Californa, and all of a sudden you're too good for us now?  I don't know you, man...I don't even KNOW you."

#2 -- The act became even more disturbing in the next pose: one guy swinging from the other guy's banana hammock.

#3 -- Only in the Midwest:  A Cubs ticket promotion to "buy any full-price ticket, and bring your date for free."

#4 -- You decide: The number of goals in a soccer hat-trick, or the number of U.S. fans who actually give a crap about soccer.

#5 -- The popularity of soccer in the U.S. is, of course, still higher than that for handball -- where even the best teams have to solicit public-access cable TV stations for sponsorships.

1) Easy there fella. Is that a can of snuff in your pocket?

2) With Siegfried and Roy on hiatus, look for Chip and Dale appearing at your local bath house this summer.

3) "I subscribe to Comcast for the Cubs games, but my goat friend and I enjoy a little late night Cinemax."

4) Ashton Kutcher still can't get over the shocker he gave Demi last night and is poised to let everyone know about it.

5) Now playing, Dodgeball 2 Freaks vs. Geeks.
