How to Play:

It's simple, really. Look at the sports-related pictures above, and give us your funniest caption for any or all of them. You can write as many captions for each as you would like.

The contest runs daily, Monday-Thursday. Each day's contest will usually be posted by noon ET, and will usually end around 11 p.m. ET. If I decide that your caption is the funniest or most clever submitted for that picture, it will be declared a winner.

Winning captions will be announced when the contest ends. There will be one winner for each picture, and also one winner for the person who can string together the 5 best captions all with the same theme.

You will be awarded one point for each winning caption that you post. You will see a running tally on the scoreboard, which will be posted at the beginning and end of each day. At the end of each month a champion is declared, and we shower that user in praise and adulation! We add his screenname to the Wall-O-Fame, and then we start everyone's score back at 0.

This contest is just for fun, and there are no real prizes at this time. Who thinks they can make us laugh? :)

On the next "Parks and Recreation", Amy Poehler is joined by special guest Tina Fey. They share a nice afternoon of tennis and discuss how a mildly talented dimwit got her own prime time show by riding the coat tails of her sexier, more talented girlfriend.

Obviously meant for #2 (not #3).

I feel you, BigBlu.  That's why I only sumbitted for number 1 today.  Knew what I came up with for the others were already/were going to be taken about 20 times over.  At least Joe will have the easy job of giving the point to somebody with originality, although Daly jokes are funny.

1) Billy knew that sitting in row 32 with the green people was risky, but he was tired. Tired of banana only schools, banana only water fountains, and being forced to sit on the back of the bus. You see Billy had a dream – A dream that one day this nation would rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold the truths to be self evident, that all men, fruits and vegetables, are created equal.”

4. As if his consumption of alcohol during the tour wasn't bad enough, John Daly's bladder control problems were becoming an even bigger concern for the PGA

Sorry - joining the party a little late today, didn't see the other seventeen John Daly jokes already posted.

The 5 most under appreciated jobs in sports.

1.  Badly dressed dude.  Dressing in awful orange shorts and looking so ridiculously bad is all in a day's work.  Their mission is to make all the other fans feel good about what they wore to the game.  A tough job but someone has got to do it.

2.  Tennis ball hardness inspector.  Someone has to take a few off the old noggin to make sure the balls aren't too soft or too hard, and the fuzz consistency is just right.  A very impotant task in the world of tennis.  Careers in this field are lucrative but short.

3.  Designated prayer guy.  He (or she) prays when all is lost, your team needs a rally or turnover, or just in need of some sort of divine intervention like a massive monsoon in the bottom of the 4th down by 7 runs.  He also will pray that you reach the concession stand ahead of the guy standing next to him.

4.  Gator sweat collector.  Collecting the honest sweat off of alligators for the base ingredient in Gatorade is a thankless job.  Here the tireless workers squeeze the sweat from the grass and push it towards natural turf filters.  Unfortunately being mauled by a gator is an occasional occupational hazard.  Again careers can be short but good pay and all the orange flavor drink you want makes this an attractive occupation.

5.  Butt of the Jokes Clubhouse Person.  Every clubhouse needs a fall guy.  Since players are too rich and full of themselves nowdays, they hire someone of low intelligence and good humor to make fun of, instead of each other.  Pay is better than working at McDonalds, just not as rewaqrding mentally

Finally, got this one done.  What a day. Great posts everyone.  I kind of needed them today.
