How to Play:

It's simple, really. Look at the sports-related pictures above, and give us your funniest caption for any or all of them. You can write as many captions for each as you would like.

The contest runs daily, Monday-Thursday. Each day's contest will usually be posted by noon ET, and will usually end around 11 p.m. ET. If I decide that your caption is the funniest or most clever submitted for that picture, it will be declared a winner.

Winning captions will be announced when the contest ends. There will be one winner for each picture, and also one winner for the person who can string together the 5 best captions all with the same theme.

You will be awarded one point for each winning caption that you post. You will see a running tally on the scoreboard, which will be posted at the beginning and end of each day. At the end of each month a champion is declared, and we shower that user in praise and adulation! We add his screenname to the Wall-O-Fame, and then we start everyone's score back at 0.

This contest is just for fun, and there are no real prizes at this time. Who thinks they can make us laugh? :)

1) Braylon demonstrates his famed, "I'm so good, I can catch with one hand permanently in my pocket" routine.  Tedd Ginn Jr. is also rumored to use this technique.

4. If the color of his fingers is any indication, Manning was proudly indicating how many post-game bags of Cheetos he'd downed prior to accepting her MVP trophy.

1.  Thumbing your nose at your opponent is a pretty mild taunt, but it rings hollow if a win doesn't accompany it.

2.  Childress additions for Allstate commercials.  Unfortunately for the Vikings, the players didn't get the "good hands" memo in time for the game.

3.  Sean Payton gets a bit of practice in for the Saints celebration on Bourbon Street later that evening.

4.  Payton Manning gives the high sign to the equipment managers for quickly getting him a XXL-Tall Championship T-shirt before all the linebackers and running backs grabbed them up.

5.  Just like in the jungle, the hunter always celebrates the kill while the hunted wonders what the hell they did wrong.

4. Peyton was going to go for the thumbs up, but, in typical fashion, decided to audible at the last moment.

1) Braylon Edwards plumb-bobs his view to the Super Bowl and sees nuttin but blue.

2) What the hell?  You have the best TD/INT ratio of your career, and you throw that pass?  Now?

3) Ah ha ha ha ha! I knew it!  He had the best TD/INT ratio of his career and he threw that pass.  Wow!!

4) Hey Peyton, what are the chances of you playing in the Pro Bowl?

5) Hey Brett, what are the chances of you throwing a bonehead INT to end our season?  Can you hear me?  If that hit knocked the new Brett out of you, please stay down and let this beast have his moment.

My tribute to Weekend Update with Norm McDonald:

1) Braylon Edwards announced plans to open his own theme restaurant this offseason. The theme? "I don't deserve to be an NFL wide reciever."

2) In a highly unusual ruling on Monday, the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled that Vikings coach Brad Childress is "one ugly bastard".

3) Sean Payton broke out in an interperative jig after watching his team score a touchdown. You can see this and much more in my new video "Why white people have such a bad reputation for dancing"

4) Peyton Manning gives a sign to his biggest fan as the Colts advance to the Super Bowl. Who was that fan? You guessed it, Frank Stallone.

5) Brett Favre valiently tried to lead the Vikings to an impressive come from behind victory in last night's NFC title game, despite taking numerous crushing hits throughout the game. *pulls out tape recorder* Note to self: If ever hit by the Saints defense, just STAY DOWN.
