How to play:

It's simple, really. Look at the sports-related pictures above, and give us your funniest caption for any or all of them. You can write as many captions for each as you would like.

The challenge runs daily, Monday-Thursday. Each day's competition will usually be posted by noon ET, and will usually end around 11 p.m. ET. On Monday and Wednesday, Community member ktopp24 will be the judge. On Tuesday and Thursday, I'll run the show. If one of the judges decide that your caption is the funniest or most clever submitted for that picture, it will be declared a winner.

Winning captions will be announced when that day's challenge ends. There will be one winner for each picture, and also one winner for the person who can string together the 5 best captions all with the same theme.

You will be awarded one point for each winning caption that you post. You will see a running tally on the scoreboard, which will be posted at the beginning and end of each day. At the end of each month a champion is declared, and we shower that user in praise and adulation! We add his screenname to the Wall-O-Fame, and then we start everyone's score back at zero.

#1.  "God! I wish Matt Millen was our GM."

#2.  "I guess it's alright, as long as the straws don't touch each other."

5) I was flipping channels between the game and Pawn Stars. During one of the plays that Bryant made, I think it was Jaws that said there was a reason why this guy was given the number 88, based on similarity. I wondered why the number was never retired. Then, Pawn Stars made me realize, antique coke machines don't retire, they just get restored.
Wow... That's kinda awesome. :)

1) Samurai Mike, on Millionare: Ummm....man.....can I ask the audience?

Regis: Are you sure, Mike? This is only the $100 question, that's your last lifeline, and you will need to get 4 more after this just to get $1,000.

Samuri Mike: I'm out of timeouts, right?

Regis: Of course you are.

Mike: Then I'm sure.

Regis: Ok, that audience poll is in, and 100% say the answer is D "Alex Smith sucks".

Mike: I'm gonna go with A, blindly start Alex Smith for no reason, final answer.

Regis: Well, I'm sure you're use to this feeling, you lose.

2) The Red Bull Racing Walker, with one can of red bull and a cleverly disguised urinary catheter that looks like a second can of red bull, is not only stylish, but creates great moments of humor when the user has a senior moment and forgets what straw to drink out of.

3) Jeff Hardy takes his new heel gimmick in bizarre and disturbing directions.

4) People may not like Hulk when he's angry, but thankfully, the only known anger issue for Hulk is a soccer goal, meaning he has remained tame throughout the course of his lifetime.

5) Dez Bryant tries not to get excited about Romo being down, now that he can save a fortune in insurance now that he won't be hung up to dry over the middle nearly as much for the rest of the season.

#94 Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila

I really liked KGB back when I liked the Pack. He had like 2 good years then fell off the face of the earth. I assume Gilbert Brown ate him.

Crud.  I thought my number 1 yesterday was a winner for sure.  I think I'm going to have to disappear for 3 hours to recover from the blow.

It was a reply to your PM.  Didn't know if you saw it and didn't respond or not.  How bout my Bucs?  4-2.  The epitome of mediocrity (despite what our coach says).  Good enough to beat the bad teams, bad enough to be blown out by the good teams.  It's much more than I expected, though.  The sign of a young team building.

I haven't seen him since Thursday morning when he last scored.  You have another PM, my friend, if you read this.  Figured he'd be ecstatic after Sunday night.  Hope all is well.

I saw your PM from last Wednesday but that's the last one I got..

I was ecstatic about Sunday night. I was up pacing my living room floor until 11:30PM. I got a work buddy who's a big Vikings fan and we make a bet every year that the fan of the losing team has to wear a jersey of the winning team the next day at work. So he had to wear my #94 Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila (yes it's a real guy. Check Wikipedia) jersey all day yesterday. It was sweet revenge because I had to wear a #11 Duante Culpepper jersey twice last year.

1.  "Welcome to our confessional, Mr. Childress.  I've been expecting you.  Yes, you are forgiven for not challenging the Green Bay touchdown call.  And you are also forgiven for leaving Favre in the game too long.  But letting the clock run out with half a minute and two timeouts left with the ball on the 40?!  Forget about it, man.  But on the bright side, our church is starting a peewee football team, so you won't have to worry about being out coaching very long."

2.  A quick trip with the time machine reveals preparations for Brett Favre's 2050 retirement ceremony.

3.  Looks like sSomebody's been brown-nosing the Tin Man.
