While you were sleeping

Another rivalry between Boston and New York? Nynasty seems to think so. One of our resident baseball gurus once again strays to the gridiron. Check out Erstwhile Highlanders Blog to see how nasty breaks down the Giants Superbowl run and, if I'm not mistaken, picks New York to win.

Somebody somewhere is always thinking about baseball. Last night, one of those people was gobigred203. This Cubs fan gives you the final divisional standings for the upcoming season. Not surprisingly, he has a certain team from Chicago winning the NL Central. See where your team will finish in We Believe.

I wasn't expecting to see anyone quoting Voltaire in these blogs, but only a week in and the Community has it's first reference. Naydezy bestows upon us 13 quotes and proverbs to live by. These sayings cover the entire gamut; from Virgil to Vince Lombardi. If you feel like you might need a little guidance, take a look at The Words of Dezy.

Steeler/Red Sox fan nybites saw fit to take everyone on a journey through his life as a sports fan. This user became a Pittsburgh fan right after the Immaculate Reception. Come along for the ride, and hear how this user grew to love the people of Pittsburgh, dodged DUIs and bar fights and eventually got a Steelers tattoo. You can tell everything you need to know from the name of the blog: Why I bleed Black and Gold.

Need some help for the upcoming fantasy baseball season? DragonRider23 has a little help for you. This week DragonRider's Baseball and Football Blog ranks the top pitchers in the game. Somebody call the Yankees, Red Sox and Mets -- tell them that Johan Santana is only No. 4.

After last night's overtime interception, it's definitely time for Brett Favre to hang up his least that's what byronlhsdrmr says in The Bandwagon Starts Here. This user also takes a shot at fans of the "New York Football Giants."

Finally, we move to basketball, where Pacers fan HurricaneDij39 explores the possibility of trading Jermaine O'Neal. The Eye of the HurricaneDij lays out four separate trade scenarios, including the benefit for both teams involved.

I kinda though me putting Johan in no.4 would catch a few by surprise. But after a Win-Loss record like last year, you gotta put him behind the Playoff king, the AL Cy Young winner and the NL Cy Young winner.

Look for my Closers version tommarow.

I've got no problem with the V-dog (I'm sure they called him that). By all means, bring on the thinkers.

I was just a little surprised to find him lurking here, in the world of sports.
