The main event pits Chuck Liddell against the undefeated Rashad Evans. If Liddell wins this one, his next fight is probably going to be a blockbuster.

Round 1: Evans is throwing jabs and Liddell is pressing forward. Liddell tags him with a right. They continue circling. Evans with an overhand. Evans with a body kick. He follows with a left hand. Evans is sticking and moving, landing a jab. Evans is also switching his stance frequently. Liddell connected with an overhand. Evans throws another kick. Liddell corners Evans and throws an uppercut but Evans gets out of harm's way. The round ends with Liddell cut on his right cheekbone. I give the round to Liddell 10-9 based on aggressiveness.

Round 2: They exchange blows, with Evans landing several nice punches. Evans catches Liddell with a pair of left-right combinations. He's got some fast hands. Huge right hand by Evans knocks Chuck Liddell out cold. Wow. That was absolutely unexpected.

Liddell was throwing an uppercut at the same time, and Evans just leveled him.

Winner: Rashad Evans defeats Chuck Liddell via KO at 1:51 of Round 2.

Evans said after the fight that he avoided wrestling Liddell because he feared that could spell his doom.

"The strategy was going straight for the horns," Evans said. "I could take him down all day (but) that's the way to get knocked out (and) that's a way to get tired."

If you want to make a name for yourself at light heavyweight in the UFC, knocking out Chuck Liddell like that is the way to do it. Incredible stuff.

I agree, the shot from behind showed you how hard Evans hit Liddell. I knew it was hard, but when they showed the angle from behind, it almost hurt ME. Wow. Rashad really showed me alot during that fight. Im impressed.

I dont follow UFC too much, but everytime Liddell fights for the past few years he never wins--maybe he should give it up

I hate to say it, but I'm afraid it's time for Chuck to hang it up.  When he was 20-3 and champion he was sitting on top of the world. Starting with a failed effort to even the score with Rampage, Chuck has been 1-3.  I wanted like anything for chuck to put Mr. Evans on his back, he has no class and is a disgrace to the sport!! Unfortunately that did not occur, and I'm afraid that Chuck should seriously re-evaluate if he can continue to compete in this sport.  His rather one-dimensional stand up attack is not as successful against the quicker more athletic opponents. Chuck just can't impose his will anymore and expect to beat everybody. He needs to develop more weapons in his arsenal and outsmart his opponents not just try to overpower them.

Why are you calling Liddell that?  Just because the fight happens to go Rashad's way?  Don't worry,  Mr. Cocky will get his too won't go Hollywood too? Why don't you mix it up with Liddell and we'll see how quickly he drops you into tomorrow

Honestly, I don't think Chuck's uppercut would have done much damage even if it had landed. Then again, it IS Chuck and he's KOed guys with uglier punches before. Rashad, on the other hand, nailed Chuck with one of the biggest haymakers I've ever seen. That punch would have KOed a horse. I have a feeling that won't be the last time we see Rashad brutally drop somebody, either. If Forrest even thinks about standing and brawling with Rashad, he's going to go to sleep too.

Talk about .01 seconds, Chucks uppercut was that close to a totally different discussion.....Liddell v Griffin in December

Fighters are like running backs:  When Father Time taps them on the shoulder, it goes sour pretty quickly.  Liddell was still competitve for almost all of the fight, but he just doesn't have the quickness to recover from openings like that anymore.  He could conceivably earn and win a title fight based on his stand-up alone, but he's no longer the dominant all-around fighter we've gotten used to.

Good point he looked like a fag twisting on his nipples. Got to give it to him that was a great punch and I think Liddell has seen his final days as a top fighter in MMA. I hope someone knocks that Cocky piece of #$%@^ out. Thats whats wrong with the new fighters now days its all a show. 10 years ago if he had stuck his face forward and taunted the other fighter during the fight he would have been killed.

Props to Rashad.  But lets face it, Chuck's reaction time, quickness, and auro of invincibility are now shot.  With that being said, he could still be successful, but not champion caliber.  What is with Rashad twisting his nipples?  God, I was hoping Chuck would ko his ass!
