Is Jim Sorgi finally getting replaced?

I must admit that I've never been a fan of Jim Sorgi because of his inaccuracy. Some could say that he's not as effective because he always plays with the backups and doesn't have the time he needs with a second or third string offensive line.

The problem with that argument is that when he does a quick pass with virtually no pressure, he still overthrows the receiver or throws it to a spot that allows a defender to make a big hit on that player.

Well, the Colts staff might have finally opened their eyes at Sorgi's inept play. Since Peyton Manning is possibly out for the first three Preseason games, the Colts need a QB that can actually get the ball to the receiver.

The Colts have added depth to their quarterback position by signing Quinn Gray and Jared Lorenzen, the hefty lefty who used to backup the other Manning.

I just hope that one of these quarterbacks impresses the coaching staff enough to replace Sorgi and give the Colts a viable option late in the season if they decide to rest players.

There is where math and football just don't work together. I could get in for one play and make a completed pass and have a better passing rating. Come on quit using crap Math and get down to leadership and the question who would you want running your team with two minutes to go and needing a TD to win. The answer isn't Sorgi.

I have to agree QB Gray and QB Lorenzen are younger and will take the 2 and 3 spot. Sorgi could catch on with a team like Green Bay the Colts don't need him anymore.

I'm suprised Sorgi has lasted this long.  Comming from the Badgers as predominately a running team he just doesn't have the passing experience needed in the Pros.  The Badgers passed some but Sorgi had some great receivers to throw to also.

Glad to see the hefty lefty get a shot to make the Colts roster. Sorgi isn't worth the roster spot better to go with both Gray and Lorenzen if Manning will be out for awhile. More upside to those two rather than Sorgi.

Jim Sorgi does not have the arm strength or the passing accuracy of the average QB, but before last year, Jim Sorgi had a better overall passer rating than Peyton Manning. Jim Sorgi had like, a 95.6 passer rating before the start of last season and Peyton Manning had a 93.1. But Jim Sorgi barely ever plays.

I couldn't agree w/ jlee any more. Peyton Manning is an ironman. Granted, he won't touch Brett Favre's record (blahhahahahaha), but he's about as durable as any QB in the league.

The only reason why I don't say "Who cares about Sorgi" is that he's a Wisconsin guy. Go Badgers!

I THINK THAT IT IS LONG OVER DO, AND THE ADDITION OF QUINN GRAY WAS A SMART MOVE HE IS A MOBLE QB THAT AS A LOT OF TALENT IF INJURY HAPPENS TO PAYTON HE WILL BE A GREAT REPLACEMENT THAT WILL KEEP THE TEAM MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

You know how to tell if a team is great or not? Someone writes a blog worried about the backup QB. Try being a Vikings fan and go into the season with all the pieces in place for a contending team, except for a QB. You have a HoF QB who will most likely break all of Favre's records, who has started every game that he has been in the league. Must be nice to root for a team that is a Superbowl contender every year and the only left to fret about is a backup QB that only plays in insignificant situations.
