The Chicago Cubs remain the likely landing spot for Roberts for a package that is expected to include pitcher Sean Gallagher and one of the Cubs' young outfielders. The teams have discussed several scenarios but have yet to agree on a package. There it is off mlbtraderumors.com

Hey all !!!

Sorry about the off topic post.  Thought I was responding to a different thread.  Clearly don't have all this new stuff at CBS under control yet.  Please ignore my prior post.

Hey wink!

Yea the Pau Gasol trade is huge for the Lakers.  Gasol, Andrew Bynum, and Lamar Odom on the front line.  Pretty intimidating.  Kobe Bryant has to be grinning from ear to ear.

Looks to me like the Grizzlies are downsizing to sell.

Don't know how quickly it can all gel, but on paper, the Lakers look better than the Suns and the Spurs now.  They were doing well even before the trade.  Jordan Farmar, Luke Walton, and Ronny Turiaf coming off the bench.  This team is now very formidable.

And remember the trade for Derek Fisher...The Lakers are picking up really good to great players for very little.  This is going to be very interesting to watch!

If that is all the Cubs have to give up it is certainly worth it. I think the Cubs can live without him but he is an upgrade at the top or bottom of the order. I would hopethat the young outfielder would be Mulder not Pie. I think Mulder is a nice player, but that we have seen what he brings to the table. He is a low end LF or fourth OF. Pie may not be the next great player but I don't think we will find out for a year or two. I hate to give up on him if he can be kept.
