WHAT IS UP WITH THE SPORTSLINE SITE?

Posted on: June 29, 2008 7:58 am

I am not posting this to be a jerk but almost as a "Customer Service" assist to CBS.   The last couple of weeks I've seen or encountered numerous problems with the site.   I thought maybe it was my computer at home, but,  the same things are happening with a different laptop and with my desktop at work.

Here's my list, please add to it:

1.  Error messages- Getting them on both posts and fantasy baseball and football while trying to navigate teams.

2.  Try to submit a post, get an error message and then find the post posted 3-4 times.  Each post a little longer than the previous one.

3.  Site just "Kicks" me out and I have to log in again.

4.  Disappearing posts.  I had a post last week that posted, got scored a 93 and when I went to look for it, it was listed on my messages board but didn't exist on the thread, and the message I got back said there was no message with that number.

5.  Ratings- Haven't gone up or down in weeks.  I see some members getting changes, I haven't seen any.

6.  SLOWWWW!  The site is moving terribly slow.

I don't know if it's a server issue or if it's happening at high volume times.

I thought it was me. Glad to know I'm not the only one with issues, as a newbie I've noticed my reputation has not changed or been updated since I joined.

TASU55, one problem there is you can change the name of the thread when you post, lol, I just learned that last week.  Then, if someone replies to the post, the thread name remains the same as the post replied to.

All of the above. Also Threads will change names or crisscross. Confusing when looking for specific thread.

Ronski, same with the refresh issue.  Very rarely do I view a post without having to refresh after I post it.

Thanks.

UK, good point on the PM's.  I know I've seen alot of posts that appear to be private.

A couple more observations.
I also noticed that sometimes when I submit a post that it won't show up on the thread until I refresh the page.  I also noticed that when I momentarily navigate away from a thread that when I return to it the posts that I had just rated don't show that I had rated them unless I refresh the page.

WHAT IS UP WITH THE SPORTSLINE SITE?

I noticed I was getting the Error code 100 when I would try submit a post while I had another page open on the same thread.  I'll do this sometimes in heated discussions so I can cross reference material.  Lately I've noticed the site seems to run a little slower than usual and I've had to re-log in when I change to a new thread sometimes.  I have been using this site since 2003 but my data says 2006 because thats when they started the ratings system.  It used to be that you couldn't even get on the site on Sundays during football season.  I would have to wait until Sunday night to check on my fantasy teams.  They improved this aspect about two years ago.  This year they started daily leagues in fantasy baseball.  When they lock the lineups 30 minutes before the first game there is a mad scramble with team owners dropping 2-6 pitchers to replace them with spot starters  for the next day or two.  I imagine that creates havoc in their servers for about five minutes every day at that time.

I've been noticing slower pc performances and kept getting kicked off and have to log in again.
