Why I love/hate: THE PRO BOWL

Each week I throw a blog out there asking you all to tell CBS Sports why you love or hate someone or something. We don't care for middle grounds in this blog. Middle grounds are for people much more sane than we are.

This week, we're lovin' and hatin' the Pro Bowl.

So share with us why you love or hate football's All-Star game and if you have time you can check out previous Love/Hate videos here.

How it works is ... comment back on the blog with something like "I hate the Pro Bowl because the best players sit out" or "I love the Pro Bowl because of occasional hits like this."

Something like that. Yours, I trust, will be much, much better.

Remember to start your response with I love ... or I hate...

That's all. So spread the love and hate. I look forward to reading your responses and any suggestions for future Love/Hates are always appreciated.

Why I love/hate: THE PRO BOWL

I love the Pro Bowl just because I like to see the roster.

I hate the ProBowl itself. It is dull and nobody cares who wins. There is no passion and no meaning to the game. It isn't even worth watching so I don't.

Why I love/hate: THE PRO BOWL

I have no love for the Pro Bowl

I hate the Pro Bowl because I have better things to do then watch Pro football players play a pick up game (in most cases) while on vacation in Hawaii. Sorry but the Pro Bowl has not impressed me for years.

Why I love/hate: THE PRO BOWL

I'm pretty sure you mean Robert Edwards, correct?  And that wasn't in the pro bowl, that was in just a touch football game, just a fluke injury I'd say.

Why I love/hate: THE PRO BOWL

Why I love it:  Brian Westbrook is finally there

Why I hate it: Because no one wants to play, the players that do play don't care, and its essentially a crappy exhibition game that is about as watchable as the XFL.

Why I love/hate: THE PRO BOWL

I love the pro bowl because I love watching pro football.

I hate the pro bowl because there are always too many snubs. People just vote on name recognition. Kind of like political elections!

Why I love/hate: THE PRO BOWL

I used to like the Pro Bowl. Many starters take this one off now. The voting has just gotten to be a joke. When a guy like Roy Williams from Dallas gets in to the Pro Bowl you know its just because of the team hes on. Does a player get in by stats or because hes popular??? It used to be honorable for a player to get in, now its a popularity contest regardless of how well a guy plays. I consider myself a huge football fan who wont be watching the Pro Bowl. I will be hoping that the players wont suffer any major injuries.

Why I love/hate: THE PRO BOWL

I love the Pro Bowl ---  Because Fred Taylor finally got to go.

I hate the Pro Bowl --- Because the selection process is mostly based on popularity and Large market teams, Not who the best players are. and more players should be honored to go, but a certain few decide to balk out because they didnt go as far as they thought in the playoffs, with injury the only exception. I want to see R. Moss, B Favre in there.

Why I love/hate: THE PRO BOWL

I love the pro bowl because its recognition from both the fans and professionals of the people elected and their performance

I hate the pro bowl because fan voting turns it into a popularity contest instead of based on performance.  fan voting should only be used when there is a tie or question about which player is better based on their peer and coach votes.  I would weight the system like 40% coach vote, 45% player vote and 15% fan vote.  And contract bonuses should say PLAY IN pro bowl not SELECTED TO pro bowl to collect bonuses.

But just ask James Edwards what happens when you play in the festivities and get hurt?  Your career could end over a game that means less than a preseason game.

Why I love/hate: THE PRO BOWL

Why I love the Pro Bowl.......last chance to root for some of my faves(Steelers) who didn't get far into the postseason! Also a fun game to see in person...I"ve done that.

Why I hate the Pro Bowl....wimps like Brady and Moss back out at last minute...no incentive for some of the starts to play..yeah I know..some are injured...but some just don't care about entertaining the fans...after all isn't an "All Star Game" for the fans???

Why I love/hate: THE PRO BOWL

I love the PRO BOWL because it's one more football game before having to wait several months until the draft.

I hate the PRO BOWL because there is no incentive for the players to play hard.  This results in a lack luster performance by most players.  I want to see some hard hitting "John Lynch" style tackles.

It would be great to see some more sacks the way the Giants whooped up on Tom Brady in the Super Bowl.

ARRGGHHH I already miss the football season.
