Pac 10 Predictions: Week 12

Posted on: November 12, 2008 4:07 pm
CAL @ OREGON STATE: last year: the Golden Bears were set to claim the #1 ranking, until the Beavers came to Berkeley and pulled the upset. This year: The Beavers are officially on a roll. Jacquizz Rodgers is over 1000 yards as a freshman. And apart from the Washington Stat game, Cal hasn't won on the road yet. OSU, 27-19........... WASHINGTON STATE @ ARIZONA STATE: at least the Cougars showed a pulse last week, scoring 28. They still lost by 31. ASU, 42-10.............. ARIZONA @ OREGON: last year: Oregon was in the hunt for the National title. But on a Thursday night in Tucson, they lost their Heisman contender, Dennis Dixon, and the game. This year: a matchup of contrasting styles, Arizona's passing attack with Wilie Tuitama, and Oregon's ground game with Blount and Johnson. Rain would definitely help the Ducks. Oregon, 27-24............... USC @ STANFORD: last year: I think we all remember. This year: remarkably, in his second year Jim Harbaugh has Stanford one win away from bowl eligibility. Can he slay the giant again? USC has allowed 13 points in their last 5 games. Sweet revenge. USC, 24-6............... UCLA @ WASHINGTON: the return of Neuheisel. UCLA has not won on the road yet, and their offense has been putrid. The Huskies showed a spark of life last week (sort of). If they can finally score in the red zone this week, they might get their first W and spoil Rick's return to Seattle. UW, 20-17.

Pac 10 Predictions: Week 12

Jeez, that was clever. It was not zbarms that missed USC @ Stanford.

Pac 10 Predictions: Week 12

Thanks, LA for letting me know I forgot  USC @ Stanford. zbarms missed it as well and went on to pick the Trojans. I don't think it was a sign either and expect the Trojans to win easily. They have been in a scoring slump recently, and the "revenge" against Stanford might add some enthusiasm to their play. USC 37-10

Pac 10 Predictions: Week 12

tOSU - Cal

While I think Oregon State will lose eventually, I think it will be either next week or the last week of the season to create some late-season drama of which BCS bowl USC will end up in.  The Beavers will lose, but not yet.

tOSU 28 Cal 24

Washington State - AZ State

Wash ST scored 28 last week!  Yay!  Too bad they are allowing 50 points per game.

AZ State 41 Wash ST 10  ( I finally don't predict 0)

Zona - Oregon

Oregon may be at home, but they still have inconsistent QB play.  The running game has generally been strong, but the D has shown weakness.  Tuitama lights them up for 3 TDs and 300.

Zona 38 Oregon 21

USC - Stanford

Hmmm...Stanford upset them last year, do they have a shot? NO!

USC 35 Stanford 3

UCLA - Washington

Washington has been really bad, to say the least.  UCLA, a good coach?  Not much good here.  And if zbarms is right about this game being on TV, I will boycott ABC for broadcasting such a worthless game when there are 3 other Pac10 games of more interest.  Or show us the WAC or Mountain West.

UCLA 20 Washington 16

Pac 10 Predictions: Week 12

Dangit! I did forget it. Thanks for calling me out Zbarms! Maybe I was hoping that this was a given....

USC @ Stanford - The Cardinal cost the Trojans a shot at the title game last year. Don't think USC has forgotten. Harbaugh has done a good job in his reclamation project. Look for jr. Toby Gerhart to break 1K yards on the season, Anthony Kimble will also get his carries in as well, and Stanford is 4-0 at home this year. Qualifying for a bowl game is on the line for the Cardinal. As a result, the Trojan D will put 8 men in the box and dare Tavita Pritchard to beat them with his arm. In the end this game just won't be close. Too much talent on the SC side of the field.

USC 38 - Stanford 7

Pac 10 Predictions: Week 12

Cal @ Oregon St. - Is it payback time for the Golden Bears? It could be, but I do not think so. The Beavers are just too good and their trap game is next week at Arizona. Oregon St. 34-28

WSU @ Arizona St. - Here's to hoping the Cougars have turned the page. They actually looked and played inspired. Don't get me wrong, they will not win but should hold the Sun Devils under 60. ASU 45-24

Arizona @ Oregon - Good matchup. Will Arizona have the WSU hangover? Hard to tell since they actually played. The Ducks have the Autzen advantage and this could give them the game. Oregon 27-24

USC @ Stanford - It is payback time for Carroll. Look for the Trojans to be focused and angry. USC 42-17

UCLA @ Washington - I would love to see the Huskies hand it to Rick, but unless they get solid QB play they can't. UCLA 24-13

BTW why is the Bruins/Husky game on the ABC telecast? UW and WSU are not worthy of being on ABC this season. Any of the other match ups are better. Oregon will have a full stadium, and a good game. OSU/Cal is flat out going to be an excellent game
and is interesting. USC /Stanford is worthy just because of last years game. It pains me to say that the Cougs ang the Dawgs are not interesting and by televising them put the Pac-10 in a bad light.

Pac 10 Predictions: Week 12

Cal at Oregon State --- a tough one to call here. Must go with Oregon State at home. OSU 29 Cal 21

Washington State at Arizona State -- the Cougs are having a tough season to say the least. Don't see anything changing here. ASU 45 WSU 17

Arizona at Oregon -- another potentially good game in the state of Oregon. Home team prevails. Oregon 31 Arizona 28

USC at Stanford -- USC hs revenge on their mind. Stanford will come up short in their quest for bowl eligibilty. USC 31 Stanford 7

UCLA at Washington -- the state of Washington is having a tough sports year to say the least. Nothing going to improve here. UCLA 27 Washington 17
