Heath Ledger Found Dead

I just heard about this at work while browsing the internet. I then began to wonder if I would always recall when and where I was when I heard of his death, a good chance I will now that I have written about it. No offense intended but if I hadn't wrote about it I seriously doubt it would have a lasting sting to me personally, when I told a fello co-worker who then asked me who he was I could only think of two movies off the top of my head that he had been in and I had only seen one of them, and NO it wasn't Brokeback Mountain. That was one of the two I thought of but not the one I had seen, the one I had seen was 10 Things I Hate About You. Now I am not sure why I recalled that film and not some others he has been in but that also led me on this thought of memory and what we remember and why. I know in my life I can remeber a number of famous people whom upon hearing of their death I felt actual honest to God grief, even though I had never met them, and for that reason knew I would never be able to forget the circumstances surrounding my finding out of there departures. Kurt Cobain was one; Joey Ramone, Derrick Thomas, Chris Farley, and Hunter S. Thompson were others. It is strange that in this day and age that total strangers can be such a powerful part of your life that you have true grief for them when they are gone. To all those distraught over the death of Heath Ledger I offer my sympathy.

Heath Ledger Found Dead

Hey, thank you for the condolences, I appreciate it... It's always a shock when someone so young dies, without fulfilling their goals, but then again, who's to judge right? The universe is a strange place...

Heath Ledger Found Dead

I have to say that I somewhat agree with the majority of people who upon hearing of someone famous and wealthy committing suicide saying what an idiot or loser that person is for ending there life. I then think a little bit longer on it though and realize what it really shows is that money and fame will not solve problems, in the end we are all the same individual human beings with completely different personalities and feelings. So while I happen to believe that I would never be so depressed that I would end my life I also know that only a fool says never. Rich or poor, superstar or nobody, anyone can have a brain malfunction that could make them do something that they may have never believed they would do. It makes me angry that someone could commit suicide but I refuse to bash them for it, they have obviously already paid the ultimate price to leave this ball of dust to see what if anything awaits them.

He was a good actor, too bad his child will grow up without a dad...

You know what really bugs me, it is when a poster loves post that litle, emaningless star on ya and they dont have the decency to say why and UNDERSTAND there are opinions that differ on this and other subjects.

decada, I should give you a one for your idiotic blog comment...You wonder if numbers will be boosted when Batman comes out?  WTF is that?  Rating me a one and you come out with that piece of sheet offering, idiot.

WHo gives a crap if more money is made, a daughter lost daddy? Do to selfishness.  If he committed suicide.  Which, do to experience in the matter, indicated yup, he did.

Moron.

Kurt Cobain was a huge one, I remember exactly where I was when I heard about his death.  Chris Farley too, his was strange for me cause at the time I was working in Downtown Chicago at Leo Burnett on the corner of Dearborn & Wacker,a nd they found him dead in his apartment in the Hancock Tower at Chicago & Michigan, about twenty blocks away from each other.  Nirvana is basically the soundtrack of my very early 20's, and I was hugely influenced by that music - still am.

I am not going to bad mouth Ledger, it is sad he died, but if he killed himself it is beyond selfish.  Having a little child and leaving like this is not the way to go.  I wont pass judgement until it all comes to the forefront but right now I am reserved about feeling anything about this death.

To note, I grieved for one celebrity, Len Bias, i was a kid then so I think htat was part of it, but that was a travesty of self destruction seen now as being selfish and stupid.

Otherwise, I do not grieve over those I dont know, I need a connection more than a film or radio or tv to give that to me.

I think Ledger was in "A Knight's Tale" as well.  My kids liked that movie.  So sad that another young life is ended by senseless drug use.
