Ok, here is the deal, every Friday I will post a new Blog in which we will choose the greatest player ever at a certain position. Untill the next position is posted CBS members may vote for who they think the greatest ever is, at the end of the voting I will calculate everyones votes and will add that player to The Greatest Team Ever. I hope lots of you participate because I think this could be fun. I will try to post a running tally in a comment every day.

1st Possition - C      Vote for the best center of all time!! Please post your vote in a comment, if you wish to give some insight on your choice feel free to do so. Please start your post with the players name, and please make sure that you are naming someone who played the position being voted for that week, as those are the only votes that will count..........So who is our Center?

My vote is for Mark Stepnoski of the Dallas Cowboys.  He was a key element for Emmit Smith becoming the all-time rushing leader.   I think the all time offensive line might have a couple lineman from the 1990's Cowboys team.

Great ones with Otto, Stepnoski & Cross from WUDPECKER & LIDANE.

The pattern with these and the player who represented the position of Center (Webster) was the dominance of the teams as dynasties for their eras.  The 49ers of the 80s, the Steelers of the 70s, the Raiders for the earlier to mid-70s and early 90s' Cowboys all were personifications of a dynasty.

Webster's unfortunate end with mental illness should not diminish that though small by today's measurements of an offensive lineman, he controlled the decision-making of HIS Steeler line and helped them win four Super Bowl titles.

Jeff Bostic Baby.....one of the original Hogs...cool calm demeanor but when he got on the field he plowed holes in the defense as well as anchoring 3 super bowl wins....

Randy Cross anyone? He also deserves honorable mention....you could also throw out Mark Stepnoski of those early 90's Dallas Teams.
