Dick Butkus would be my choice. The toughness he brought to the game would be valuable to any team of any time period.

Dick Butkus. I give him a slight edge over Mike Singletary because of the way the game was played in his era. Much more rougher. Butkus was the most intimidating player ever to play the game.

I'm old school but Dick Butkus would stand no chance in todays game.  It would have to be Mike Singletary or Ray Lewis.

Hail!!!

I'll give my top vote to Jack Lambert only because he could play against the pass better than someof the other greats mentioned.

And I do remember Mike Curtis and Sam Huff. I just saw some film of the battle between Huff and Jim Brown. That's the kind of football I learned to love.
