Ok, here is the deal, every Friday I will post a new Blog in which we will choose the greatest player ever at a certain position. Until the next position is posted CBS members may vote for who they think the greatest ever is, at the end of the voting I will calculate every ones votes and will add that player to The Greatest Team Ever. I hope lots of you participate because I think this could be fun. I will try to post a running tally in a comment every day.

6th Position - DT      Vote for the best Defensive Tackles of all time!! Please post your vote in a comment, if you wish to give some insight on your choices feel free to do so. Please start your post with the players names, and please make sure that you are naming someone who played the positions being voted for that week, as those are the only votes that will count, Remember this week is a double dip and you will be voting for 2 players..........So who our Defensive Tackles?

Please remember to rate this blog entry, and all comments as I appear to be losing value points for doing this blog, I happen to believe a lot of you enjoy it however, so I will continue even though I may be a rookie by the time it is over!

Sweet post Lonewolf8815,
Speedy Duncan, Rick Upchurch, Terry Metcalf, Eric Metcalf, Eddie Payton, White Shoes Johnson, Deion, Gale Sayers, and Travis Williams are some that come to mind immediately. Returners will be a fun thread because I know I'm missing some.
Hang on Chitown it's coming, and you are right. Hester is special!!

What about former Vikings and Seahawks DT John Randle?

I'm a bit younger than some of you grey bushes on here so I'm not too familiar with some of these players.  I just know that Randle was a beast.

556 tackles, 137.5 sacks

The Greatest Of All Time Team needs DT's

I have to go with the majority and vote for Alan Page and Mean Joe Greene. I am 49 years old and grew up watching these guys. I'm glad to see that older players are getting their due here. On so many polls, it seems that the current flavor of the month wins most of the time. I guess that's because most of the voters never saw the older guys play. Thanks to NFL films, it's not always the case in this sport.

DKM- Great job, Keep up the good work!
