The Greatest Of All Time Team Needs Cornerbacks

Posted on: April 11, 2008 10:05 am

Ok, here is the deal, every Friday I will post a new Blog in which we will choose the greatest player ever at a certain position. Until the next position is posted CBS members may vote for who they think the greatest ever is, at the end of the voting I will calculate every ones votes and will add that player to The Greatest Team Ever. I hope lots of you participate because I think this could be fun. I will try to post a running tally in a comment every day.

13th Position- Cornerbacks     Vote for the best Cornerbacks of all time!! Please post your vote in a comment, if you wish to give some insight on your choices feel free to do so. Please start your post with the players names, and please make sure that you are naming someone who played the positions being voted on for that week, as those are the only votes that will count..........So who are our Cornerbacks?

Please remember to rate this blog entry, and all comments as I appear to be losing value points for doing this blog, I happen to believe a lot of you enjoy it however, so I will continue even though I may be a rookie by the time it is over!

The Greatest Of All Time Team Needs Cornerbacks

I hate to say it but. Neon Deion has to be one of them. Can we please keep him off TV?. The second pains me even more because I am a Browns fan but Mel Blount of th steelers.

The Greatest Of All Time Team Needs Cornerbacks

This pains me to say, but i have to vote for Darrell Green and Deion sanders.  I hate the Redskins, and even though most of the posts here are not accurate in regards to Deion's tackling, I hated his approach to the game. He did not think it was in his best interests to tackle since he made his money covering receivers, and was famous for saying it was a 'business decision'. that, however, has been somewhat blown out of proportion. To say he 'couldn't' or 'wouldn't' tackle is highly inaccurate, and just gives those that are already irritated by his flamboyance, a reason to criticize his play. No Defense, no matter how good, can go to the Superbowl with only 10 tacklers on the field. As a cowboy fan, I saw Deion make his share of tackles both for and against the Silver and Blue. He has a big mouth, a flashy style, and an insanely arrogant manner. Most players like that get their butts handed to them. Try as they may, nobody was ever able to do that to Deion.

The Greatest Of All Time Team Needs Cornerbacks

King Of Bling

Thanks for letting me know that Johnson like Wilson, who we both know, was the best ever despite whai the others here might think also played with 2 casts for an entire season. I still have to disagree with you however on Night Train. If you look at the official Hall of Fame site under the listings by position, they say he was a corner. Link follows.

I thank you for your kind words about my posts and just know I feel the same way about your postings.

Nice post Yankee,
In response, Night Train was a safety. See the Safety's as to where I rated him if you're int. in his props. Johnson, as well as Wilson (Who I consider the best FS ever), made all-pro with casts.
I always enjoy your comments.
