The Greatest Of All Time Team Needs WR's

Posted on: May 9, 2008 1:09 pm

Ok, here is the deal, every Friday I will post a new Blog in which we will choose the greatest player ever at a certain position. Until the next position is posted CBS members may vote for who they think the greatest ever is, at the end of the voting I will calculate every ones votes and will add that player to The Greatest Team Ever. I hope lots of you participate because I think this could be fun. I will try to post a running tally in a comment every day.

17th Position- Wide Receivers     Vote for the best Wide Receivers of all time!! Please post your vote in a comment, if you wish to give some insight on your choices feel free to do so. Please start your post with the players names, and please make sure that you are naming someone who played the positions being voted on for that week, as those are the only votes that will count, this week is a double dip so be sure to vote for two players..........So who are our Wide Receivers?

Please remember to rate this blog entry, and all comments as I appear to be losing value points for doing this blog, I happen to believe a lot of you enjoy it however, so I will continue even though I may be a rookie by the time it is over!

The Greatest Of All Time Team Needs WR's

I don't know where you can find the video, but I remember the hit like it was yesterday.  What made it sweeter was Seahawk fans thought the Harden hit was a cheap shot.  The payback was awesome - you could see Largent tracking Harden across the field and throw all 180 pounds into the hit.  BEEYUUUTIFULLLLLL

The Greatest Of All Time Team Needs WR's

Rice-best football player of all time regardless of position.

Largent-even though he killed my Broncos regularly. I loved him. When Rod Smith passed him for catches, I was happy yet also sad because as great as Rod Smith is he aint Steve Largent.

Do any Seahawk fans remeber this: Early in the season Bronco safety Mike Harden just lays out Largent, might have broke his jaw or just knocks out some teeth. In the second game later that year Harden intercepts a pass, he is running around and Largent just tattoos his ass. Great hit. I was hoping to find a video of the play on youtube but didnt. Any Hawks fans know where I could find that?

The Greatest Of All Time Team Needs WR's

Rice

Second choice is much harder and I think most already listed are worthy of consideration.  My choice would be James Lofton.  I'm taking many aspects into consideration.  He had great hands and athleticism, blazing speed and he longevity was amazing.

One player I'd like to mention that I haven't seen yet in anyone's commentary is Herman Moore.  He had a very inconsistent career that didn't last that long, but for a 6 year period from 94-98 he was as good as anyone except for Jerry Rice.
