The Greatest Of All Time Team Needs A QB

Posted on: May 23, 2008 11:41 am

Ok, here is the deal, every Friday I will post a new Blog in which we will choose the greatest player ever at a certain position. Until the next position is posted CBS members may vote for who they think the greatest ever is, at the end of the voting I will calculate every ones votes and will add that player to The Greatest Team Ever. I hope lots of you participate because I think this could be fun. I will try to post a running tally in a comment every day.

19th Position- Quarter Back    Vote for the best Quarter Back of all time!! Please post your vote in a comment, if you wish to give some insight on your choice feel free to do so. Please start your post with the players name, and please make sure that you are naming someone who played the position being voted on for that week, as those are the only votes that will count..........So who is our Quarter Back?

Please remember to rate this blog entry, and all comments as I appear to be losing value points for doing this blog, I happen to believe a lot of you enjoy it however, so I will continue even though I may be a rookie by the time it is over!

The Greatest Of All Time Team Needs A QB

I am was a big Moon fan.  He had great go to receivers, or at least he made them good receivers.  His receivers were small , but had no problem taking a hit accross the middle.  I could go on and on about Moon, I loved the Oilers and love the Titans.  I followed the franchise and did not jump ship.  But I still have to vote for Johnny Unitas.  I believe he could have played in todays game.  Again he was the play caller, he made the decisions on the field.  And what does everyone call the QB, the General.  Unitas showed what a General does, take control of a game and Lead.   There has been a lot of great QBs mentioned, but Johnny Unitas by far was the greatest to day.

The Greatest Of All Time Team Needs A QB

I vote for JOE MONTANA.....
;

      I cant stand the 49ers or Montana, but greatness is greatness......    & besides, look at his competiion.....   Yo
ung guys like Brady, P.Manning will be in this conversation in 10 years but pay your dues before getting on this list now....       Elway & Marino.... NO running games for the majority of their careers...   Kinda like stats by default.....    Favre... VICODIN...  agree or not, during the mans best statistical seasons (his MVP seasons)  he openly admits to being hopped up on pain killers in order to stay on the field....  why do we honor him as an iron man again...?     Johnny U... great QB, but played too long ago for my consideration....  could he even compete in todays game...?   Montana could & Montana could have played during Unitas time as well....    Has anyone mentioned Warren Moon...?   If this was a question about QB production overall & not just in the NFL, Moon smokes everyone on this list....   but my vote is still for Montana....!!!

I have to go with Marino or Elway...Montana was great, but so much talent around him for so long....I'll take Marino
