Why rank Kansas at #1?
Pros : - Nicely rebounded since the loss at Tennesse with four wins in a row
- #1 in both score ratings and Pomeroy ratings
Cons: - Kentucky is unbeaten
- They narrowly escaped a very good Baylor at home

Syracuse comes in at #2 because a stretch of beating West Virginia, Notre Dame on the road, and Marquette, deserves recognition.

Kentucky comes in at #3 on the merit of being unbeaten.  I know that many will rank them at #1 for that reason alone, and I was considering doing that.  But I simply cannot rank a team #1 that comes in #14 on my score ratings.  That means their are 13 teams with better resumes.  The only reason they are 11 spots higher than their rating is because they are unbeaten.
