- Ron Artest, Houston Rockets (unrestricted) - Probably the top free agent on the market this summer. His offensive game has declined a bit in recent years, but he could still put up 18 a game in the right situation. Still an elite defensive player.
- Hedo Turkoglu, Orlando Magic (unrestricted) - Haven't heard whether or not he plans to opt out. Returned to earth a bit after a breakout 07-08 campaign, but came up huge in the coference finals against the Cavs. He's known for his ability to spread the floor with his guard-like skills. If he decides not to opt out, he'll make $7.35 million next year with the Magic.
- Trevor Ariza, Los Angeles Lakers (unrestricted) - An athletic wing who broke threw with the Lakers this year. Impoved his three-point shooting.
- Matt Barnes, Phoenix Suns (unrestricted) An excellent role player. Play solid perimeter defense and can hit the three. Is this the year he finally gets paid?
- Grant Hill, Phoenix Suns (unrestricted) - Still has some game left at age 36, averaging 12.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game this past season.
- Linas Kleiza, Denver Nuggets (restricted) - Somewhat inconsistent, but he provides scoring punch off the bench. Averaged 9.9 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in 08-09.
- Wally Szczerbiak, Cleveland Cavaliers (unrestricted) - He still a sub-par defensive player, but he can still shoot it, connecting on 41 percent of his three-point attmepts in limited minutes on a very good Cavs team.
- Jamario Moon, Miami Heat (unrestricted) - Great dunker, mediocre player. Don't buy into the hype.
- Desmond Mason, Oklahoma City Thunder (unrestricted) - He turns 32 in October and is coming off a season-ending knee injury. How much athleticism does he have left?
- Joey Graham, Toronto Raptors (restricted) - As an athletic wing and decent defender, he finally showed some potential in his 4th season, averaging 7.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
Other Notables:
- Jerry Stackhouse, Dallas Mavericks (unrestricted) With lingering foot pain at age 34, he no longer has the exlosiveness to play guard. Might retire.
- Quinton Ross, Memphis Grizzlies (unrestricted) - He was key to the Clippers' surprise Playoff run in 2006 and could provide defense and depth at the wing position for any given team. This past season with the Grizzlies he added a three-point shot to his game, shooting 37.5 percent on 88 attempts.
- Ime Udoka, San Antonio Spurs (unrestricted) - Lost minutes to Roger Mason Jr. this season. Two years ago, he was signed to be Bruce Bowen's understudy as a defensive specialist. If I was the Spurs, I'd re-sign Udoka and shop the aging Bowen, who has a year left on his contract.
