Field of 64 - Comedians - Elite 8 round

Way overdue on this, please accept my apologies. I have been busy lately, and was waiting on some clarification for some votes cast in the last round. I didn't get a response, so I broke the tie myself.

Here is a link to the last round

Once again, I want to make sure everyone understands the rules, I made a slight amendment this week.

Recap of the rules.

1. Vote for all of the matchups. If you don't like either, or can't decide who you like better, flip a coin. When counting votes for 32 matchups, it is easier to know I tallied everything correctly if all matchups have the same number of votes.
2. Please use BOLD to indicate who you are voting for, the strikethrough functionality does not seem to be working(as a test, I used the strikethough funtionality for that last part), but keep your response in a list form, including the areas (east, west, etc.) Again, this just makes it easier for me to count up the votes
3. Not really a rule, but feel free to make comments on the matchups if you like. It makes for interesting reading.

Onto the new Matchups.

#2 Rodney Dangerfield #6 Bob Hope

#1 George Carlin #3 Bill Cosby

#2 Eddie Murphy #6 Redd Foxx

#1 Richard Pryor #3 Robin Williams

Votes should be cast by Friday Feb 27th. (or sometime around then)

Field of 64 - Comedians - Elite 8 round

Votes should be cast by Friday Feb 27th. (or sometime around then)

Looks like I am way overdue on tallying the votes, but at least a few more got to participate due to my laziness.

No huge shockers in the results, two of the matchups were really hard in my opinion

#2 Rodney Dangerfield 27 #6 Bob Hope 6 I would have chose Rodney over Bob Hope in this matchup, and it looks like most of you agreed with me.

#1 George Carlin 13 #3 Bill Cosby 20 This was a hard choice, but I would have chosen Bill if a tiebreaker was needed. I expected a closer finish in this matchup.

#2 Eddie Murphy 29 #6 Redd Foxx 4 No surprise, Eddie should definitely advance over Redd, and it looks like everyone overwhelmingly agreed.

#1 Richard Pryor 9 #3 Robin Williams 24 Another tough matchup, I expected a close race, but Robin obliterated Richard.

In the next round I would take Bill over Rodney, and Robin over Eddie, but it isn't up to me to decide..

Field of 64 - Comedians - Elite 8 round

#2 Rodney Dangerfield #6 Bob Hope -- We're all going to get laid!

#1 George Carlin #3 Bill Cosby -- amazing wordsmith

#2 Eddie Murphy #6 Redd Foxx -- extremly tough, but Eddie took it to the next level

#1 Richard Pryor #3 Robin Williams -- The toughest matchup of the 4, but I give nod to Williams because he didn't self-destruct.

I'll go with Rodney, Bill, Eddie and Robin.... if the votes still count. If not, then I'll go with them anyway. Been gone a while, but I'm back. It looks like maybe you have too. Take care.

Field of 64 - Comedians - Elite 8 round

Rodney even Though Bob is the king- he was funny in the movies

Cosby- Clean and funny, still bust a butt with the dentist routine

Murphy- Redd lost some weight when he overdid the same stuff

Robin- Pryor was always good(except when he was on fire) but Williams is one of the funniest guys on the planet and mostly spontaneous

Field of 64 - Comedians - Elite 8 round

Thanks again, Section, for taking the time to do this.  Really went back and forth on a couple of these, great comedians from top to bottom.  Hard to believe it's alreay going to be down to the final four!!

Rodney Dangerfield-Didn't think he would make it this far but I'm glad to see that he did

George Carlin-If you watched this guy and didn't laugh, you're dead from the neck up

Eddie Murphy-I know he didn't intend his song "Party All the Time" as comedy, but even when he wasn't trying, he was funny!!

Robin Williams-This matchup is almost too good to be this early.  This was the one I was really going back and forth on.  The deciding factor for me is Robin's countless movies.

Is this possible? Can it be that George Carlin will not make the final four? Blasphemy, I tell ya, Blasphemy!

Section, we need some divine intervention here.
