"EPIC" BIG BUDGET FILMS THAT JUST SUCKED HARD

Hey moviegoers.. remember how the newspaper ads and previews would tell us all about these epic movies that were coming soon to a theatre near us, and it starred (huge celebrity #1) and (huge celebrity #2) and (huge celebrity #3) and was based on the best-selling book by (famous author) and directed by (renowned director), and was the greatest sci-fi/romance/drama/war pic/western/etc. film ever produced?  Well, once it hit the theatres, and like mindless sheep or brainless chickens, we all flocked to see it... and it sucked much ass.

One such colossal letdown has got to be DUNE.  It was so expensive, and of course was based on the successful sci-fi novel by Frank Herbert.  And it was boring as hell.  I'm curious to see how much money they lost on that turkey.

What are your nominations, folks?

And yes-when you say that somebody "knows how to win," it means they have shown that ability over a period of time. 

No, it doesn't automatically.  It could, or it could just mean this year.  Which it does.  Is it possible he could take a tumble and suck like Losman, and have a non-career?  Possibly.  But at present, he does indeed know how to win games. 

This is not a blog about "post your argument here".  End of this discussion.

Again, Chicago made it to the Super Bowl just 2 years ago.  Buffalo's last Super Bowl appearance was 93.

And yes-when you say that somebody "knows how to win," it means they have shown that ability over a period of time.  So far he has...what...5 or 6 NFL wins, give or take.  That obviously doesn't qualify to explain your statement, so I thought that you must have been talking about his years as the signal caller for the Cardinal...now I get it-you were referring to when he led Los Gatos to back to back titles in High School.  I guess you have proven your point....

I mean look at all of the success he had at college too...in his best year (junior season) at Stanford he tallied up an impressive 5-6 record, with a whopping 17 TDs, while starting every game of the season. 

I'm not talking about his college game, you dolt.  And saying a player knows how to win games does not mean he has had to have several years of NFL experience to do so.  The Bills would have been disastrous had Losman started.  The defense would have done their best to keep themselves in a game despite JP (save the debacle in AZ), but Losman doesn't have what it takes.  Edwards has played nearly mistake-free football, and smartly controlled the clock in the 4th quarter.  As for the Bears, they have been competitive enough to win every game this year, but usually snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

When your Bears prove they can win on a consistent basis, maybe you have an argument.  Until then, shut up.

Trent Edwards knows how to win games?  Just how many wins does he have in his illustrious career?  He has always been a real winner, I mean look at all of the success he had at college too...in his best year (junior season) at Stanford he tallied up an impressive 5-6 record, with a whopping 17 TDs, while starting every game of the season.  Pretty stellar.

The Bills certainly aren't garbage this year.  Trent Edwards knows how to win games.  As for the Bears, just use this week as a template of their game-losing skills.

Desperate for some hope for my team?  They went to the Super Bowl just 2 years ago.  The Bills have been garbage since....well...Jim Kelly and Andre Reed.

The Bears have 7 more titles than your Bills have.  How many Super Bowls have the Bills won?

Typical response from a fan desperate for some sort of hope for their team; having to reach into the distant past to compare teams.  The Chiefs could say they won more championships than us, and look how great they are.  All I can say for your team is that they finally did the right thing by benching Grossman.
