"EPIC" BIG BUDGET FILMS THAT JUST SUCKED HARD

Hey moviegoers.. remember how the newspaper ads and previews would tell us all about these epic movies that were coming soon to a theatre near us, and it starred (huge celebrity #1) and (huge celebrity #2) and (huge celebrity #3) and was based on the best-selling book by (famous author) and directed by (renowned director), and was the greatest sci-fi/romance/drama/war pic/western/etc. film ever produced?  Well, once it hit the theatres, and like mindless sheep or brainless chickens, we all flocked to see it... and it sucked much ass.

One such colossal letdown has got to be DUNE.  It was so expensive, and of course was based on the successful sci-fi novel by Frank Herbert.  And it was boring as hell.  I'm curious to see how much money they lost on that turkey.

What are your nominations, folks?

What?  How could you say that "The Conqueror" was bad?  Did you even see it? The Duke and Lee Van Cleef starring as Mongols....what could possibly go wrong?  True the concept was awful, the acting sucked, and the fact that Susan Hayward was supposed to be a Mongol woman, yet they did nothing with make up to make her look so....yeah pretty bad.

How could I say it was bad?  Well, for all the reasons you stated.  And I didn't see the whole film, but I certainly saw enough.

But if you want to have a good time laughing and drinking much alcoholic beverage, this is a sure ticket to satisfaction.

How bout them Bears?  LOL!

And I never saw this gem, but heard it was AWFUL, and saw the box office number:

Catwoman.

Halle Berry, Sharon Stone and Benjamin Bratt. Directed by some dude named Pitof.  Yes like Cher, he's got just 1 name.

Cost 85 million, brought in 40 mil.  I'm not a math whiz or anything, but that can't be good.

The film won 4 Razzie's awards:Worst director, worst picture, worst actress and worst screen play.

Nominated for another 3: Worst screen couple, worst supporting actor and worst supporting actress.

CASH MONEY, great American cinema.

My vote goes to one of the worst films I've ever seen: Alexander.

Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie, Val Kilmer, Jared Leto, Rosario Dawson and Anthony Hopkins.  Directed by Oliver Stone....Just a GOD-AWFUL film.  I think it is a bad sign when they re-release a DVD pointing out that it has been re-edited for "more action" and "faster paced."

Also-as another nice little side note: In response to the film's hostile reception, Howard Hughes (producer) purchased all existing copies and "The Conqueror" remained effectively unreleased until 1974. Supposedly, this film was something Hughes watched daily in the reclusive paranoia of his final days.

With great stuff like that how could you not love this film?

How about Exorcist 2:The Heretic? The Exorcist was one of the all-time greatest horror movies.Everyone was so anxious when the sequel came out.Boy,talk about a huge dissapointment. The movie had Richard Burton,Louise Fletcher and Linda Blair as it's main cast.It is a real stinker to be kind.

Yeah, and John Boorman directed.  Strange how that film failed so miserably.

Another one is "The Conqueror" back in 1956, where John Wayne played... GENGHIS KAHN!!!  WTF!!!

A ridiculously talented ensemble of stars looked silly in this monster-budgeted fiasco.  This film was also nicknamed "The Deadliest Movie Of All Time", due to the fact it was shot near a nuclear test site, and many of the actors and crew got cancer from it.
