YOUR GRADE FOR THE BUFFALO BILLS SO FAR

Hey Bills fans!

What grade would you give for the team at this point of the season, and why?

Keep in mind this grade can be updated if you like, as the season progresses.  You could give an A one week, then an A- if the team takes a dive suddenly.  Hope I didn't jinx us...

I'd say at this point, an A- .  They obviously are looking great at first place in the AFC East, but if the running game were more productive and Hardy was able to contribute more, then we would be even better.  Plus, the run defense suffered a bit at times this year, and the D suffered in all phases vs. the Cardinals.  But other than that we have been terrific.

Trent Edwards is far and away the team's MVP.  One of the greater third-round QBs in recent memory.

Whew.. good to see Edwards prove he's not a fluke.  He had a great game today and ran for 2 scores.  I realize our competition was the Queefs, who we were supposed to thump, but I am happy for Trent.  We have to continue to take advantage of our soft schedule and hopefully our injured defensemen will be ready for when the divisional games rear their ugly heads again.

Having said that, I bump the grade up to a C+... for now.  We get the 49ers at home next week.  A blowout will sneak us back in the B range.

They get an "A" for the first 4 games and an "F" for the last 6. So "C-" up to this point.

Marcus Stroud was a good addition. But what's up with Marshawn Lynch? Where's the "Beast" in "Beast Mode"? The talent on offense doesn't scare anybody and the defense is overworked.

Okay, I'm going to continue to drop these dunderheads as long as they continue to underachieve in all departments.  C- is the grade I think they deserve AT PRESENT.  There are so many factors as to why this is happening, but Trent Edwards' play is an abomination.  Pull your head out dude!

Well.. I guess I'll have to downgrade them to a B- now.  The offensive line has buckled lately, forcing Edwards into poor decisions.  And McGee is getting beat like a dog.  Also the team as a whole is becoming turnover-prone.  Makes it hard to score in the red zone when you TURN THE FREAKIN' BALL OVER.  This is one rotten way to start divisional play.  Now we get to go to Foxboro.  If there isn't a major butt-kicking by the coaches or a major shakeup doesn't happen it's very possible the playoff dream will be just that-- a dream.

YOUR GRADE FOR THE BUFFALO BILLS SO FAR

I would give the Bills a solid B.  At the beginning of the season, I felt that this team would go 8-8 and show some marked improvement over last season.  Obviously, they have exceeded my expectations.  Trent is unbelievable.  Since last preseason, I have bought into him hook, line, and sinker.  He seems to be geeting better as the season goes on, and as long as he stays healthy, he should carry us through the playoffs.

Much like the other contributers on this thread, I am a disappointed with the running game.  It seems like they have compensated with more screen passes, which have been highly effective.  So, as long as they keep controlling the games the way they have been, I am not that concerned.

With that being said, I see them really taking it to Miami this weekend.  I predict a 14 point victory and improving their grade to a B+.

At this point I give the Bills a B.  The reason for the B is the team is 5-1, but yet to face any divisional teams which could change our season for better or worse.  They are also not yet at an A because one of our best player Marshawn Lynch has yet to run for 100yds.. our O line has not lived up to what they should be YET.  The defense at times looks sloppy but thankfully have made the good plays when they needed to be made.  I BILLieve they upgrade to an A and further to A+ as the season progresses but for now a solid B is what they deserve.
