DISCO SONGS WE ACTUALLY LIKE!!!

Hey music mavens,

I realize that often when one mentions the word "disco", it often elicits some expression of disgust from others.  But some of those songs are just catchy enough to warrant repeat playings.  Which disco songs, for you, have somehow withstood the test of time and compel you to sing, hum, or whistle along to?  Or to a greater degree, karaoke to?

So don those platform shoes, bell bottoms, afro wigs, etc., and git down on the floor and boogie!

DISCO SONGS WE ACTUALLY LIKE!!!

KC And The Sunshine Band was great, and I still like them.  Blondie had two versions of Heart Of Glass, with one of them saying the "pain in the ass" line.  I have both versions.  I still love Blondie.

Another disco fave of mine is "Dance With Me" by Peter Brown.

Rock's mention of (Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman was inspired.  I'l throw in:

Do Ya Think I'm Sexy by Rod Stewart

Get Down Tonight- K.C and the Sunshine Band

Heart of Glass- Blondie (once I had a love with a heart of glass, soon turned out to be a pain in the a**)

Gotta go with Funky Town by Lipps Inc. and, as a truly guilty pleasure who can forget Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas?  C'mon, you know you like it, admit it.

And who among us doesn't love that classic, Disco Duck by Rick Dees

The Village People are a guilty pleasure...I sing along but would perish of embarrassment if someone caught me. As for dancing..you're right about Disco...you couldn't/can't fake it..you have the moves or you don't. Still fun to try

DISCO SONGS WE ACTUALLY LIKE!!!

Disco was popular when I was in my early 20's and went to dance clubs on occassion.  The trouble with me and dance clubs, is I'm not a good dancer.  I went for the girls.  Rock N Roll was easy, with Disco, you had to know what you were doing.

Last Dance would start out slow and easy, and right when you were really starting to relax with the girl, it would speed up and I had to dance again.

The Village People had some catchy songs.  Guess I know three of theirs:  Macho Man, YMCA, and In the Navy.
