Mock Draftacular -- June 3

I held my first mock draft of the summer (summer being used loosely) with Fantasy fans using our Mock Draft tool.

Here are the results: http://mockdraft.1.football.cbsspor
ts.com/mockdraft/results/rosters/41
8738

And here's the rationale behind my picks

Round 1: Frank Gore No brainer.

Round 2: Andre Johnson See Frank Gore.

Round 3: Marshawn Lynch I like Lynch as a value pick in late Round 3. The only problem is saving a pick for Fred Jackson later on. He went to the top of my queue just to remind myself that I needed to pick him later.

Round 4: Marques Colston The knee injury kind of bothers me, but he should be fine. Best receiver in the Saints' pass-happy offense.

Round 5: Donovan McNabb
I wanted to have a quality quarterback and didn't want McNabb to slip past me here in late Round 5.

Round 6: Eddie Royal One of my favorite sleepers for this season. 100-catch potential.

Round 7: Felix Jones

Round 8: Ray Rice

Round 9: Leon Washington

I liked nabbing all three of these "upside" running backs. They will all start the year splitting time, but at least one of them should pan out into being a quality Fantasy back. I really like this approach and might try it again in future drafts.

Round 10: Fred Jackson I had to get him

Round 11: Michael Bush Another "upside" running back.

Round 12: Tony Scheffler Needed a tight end.

Round 13: Titans DST
Needed a DST.

Round 14: Garrett Hartley
Needed a kicker. Someone in the mock draft actually typed that he was angry I took his guy here. That's always a good feeling.

Say you have a keeper in BREES, ten team with the tenth pick.. would you still go WR WR strategy.. or because you have to play two qb's take a top QB because they will outscore the WR by roughly 100 fantasy points?

Peyton is kept, Brady will go before 10.... you can choose Rivers, Rogers Romo etc...

Honestly i love the Fred Jackson pick. Being a Bills fan i got to watch him every week and what i saw impressed me. Jackson could force Buffalo into using a commitee in the backfield with good play in the first 3 games and his versility as a rusher, blocker, and receivor will get him touches.

I would have thought you would go for a top 5 TE

One thing on Scheffler joefan - I actually think he is gonna be a nice TE becasue a TE is a mediocre QB's best friend. And if Marshall does leave, then Scheffler is easily a top 10 TE

Tried to follow the link but it came up blank so I don't know how many teams or rounds for your draft.

Overall it seems you are heavy on running backs but you only handcuffed Lynch. Of course you could drop Jackson after the suspension, unless he's getting you points.

McNabb is a great pick that late in the draft but, I also agree, you should have a backup. Jason Campbell and Shaun Hill helped me win a few weeks last year (I like to play matchups).

Johnson is a top notch receiver, Colston should be back in form, and Royal, while talented, is a bit of a risk with Orton at QB. Some think he is the next Welker; I would still have added another WR. Probably in the tenth or eleventh round. I'm not sold on Scheffler but if things pan out with Orton he"ll be okay.

The Titans are tight and Hartley should have plenty of opportunities to put up points. I'd give you a B- overall.

Fred Jackson... why? I am all for picking the handcuff players, but only when the backup is actually useful. The Buffalo O-Line is pedestrian at best, so if Lynch goes down, then Trent Edwards just became the most popular FA pickup in town. Not Jackson. They'll have Rhodes to carry the ball too - so I just don't see why Jackson is a guy you'd want to draft.

And honestly, who takes McNabb without a quality backup QB? Have you not leared by now that he doesn't stay healthy? Especially since he's pushing 33 years now. I love McNabb - he's always underafted every year. But not having a backup QB...granted this is a mock but still, unless you have Manning at QB you just gotta have a backup.
And Eddie Royal in round 6. Did you forget he does not have a legit QB anymore? I suppose if Marshall leaves then Royal in Round 6 makes sense, but a new HC + a garbage QB = disaster for a WR.
