How many of you are snowboarders?

Just curious, how many of you are snowboarders, and where is your home resort?  Also if you've been to any good areas on the east coast preferably in the Vermont/ Maine area I'm interested to hear where because I'm looking at going somewhere sometime in the near future.  I was thinking Killington but if there are other good Mountains I'd like to know

How many of you are snowboarders?

Its the same way in New York in regard to the mountain loosing its appeal.  It seems like when there isn't any snow in the backyard most people don't come out, but there is still some good riding to be had.   Personally i don't mind the spring because you pretty much have the whole mountain to yourself during the last few weeks of the season which is nice.   Plus the schools stop coming as well as the tour buses so all you have is a few of the regular people there.  Right now there's gotta be at least 20 to thirty tour buses coming each day and 20 to thirty school buses.  It gets mobbed with a lot of people that are dumber than a box of nails.  Then the only double diamond hill gets closed for races all the time.

I wouldn't mind going to Killington in the spring.  I bet they'd have about as many trails open as I get to ride on here (33).  I wouldn't care what was open because I can ride anything, I'd just be glad to be snowboarding that late in the year.

The only time I skied at Killington was in mid April and the crowds weren't too bad then.  Later than that and you'll have much less trails to choose from.  I know here in Colorado skiing loses it's appeal during the warmer spring months so I get the trails to myself and don't have to deal with rush hour ski traffic.  I really enjoyed downhill skiing in the spring months back east.  Those icy moguls became much more manageable when they turned to spring slush.

I had never really heard of Stratton until this year when one of our park groomers went there, so I bet the parks are in great shape.

I've heard that Killington gets pretty crowded, my plan for that was to either go before my season started this year but I couldn't because it got colder earlier than expected and I had to work.  Now I am thinking about maybe going in May once our season is done here.  Have you ever been to Killington in Late April Early May?  I wouldn't mind the spring conditions its just the crowds that I would want to avoid.

I don't snowboard but I grew up in southern Vermont and currently live in Colorado and have skied at most of the areas in both states.  I have also skied at Brodie (Massachusetts), Sugarloaf (Maine), Bridger Bowl (Montana), and Sunshine Village (Alberta).  I no longer downhill ski but I regularly go back country skiing.  When I was in Vermont I most frequently skied Bromley because it was close, was cheaper than the big resorts and less crowded, and had good terrain.  Second favorite was Stratton for many of the same reasons and because they had a free day for locals.  Killington and Mount Snow have steeper terrain and good nightlife but can get pretty crowded.

so every body on here skis?  Thats not good we need more boarders and less skiers on the mountain.  Now couldn't be a better time to learn especially in New York.  The governor made January Learn a Snowsport month so you can get a fifty percent discount on lessons at any resort in New York and after that you will get a coupon to Dicks Sporting Goods for winter clothing.

I've heard of Vito.... I wish a guy like that would come to where I snowboard.  Bode Miller did come here once but he must have been drunk when he came because he showed up in street clothes, and had to borrow a pair of skis from the demo center and clothes from the Ski and Sport Store.  I didn't really get too excited about it because he is a skier.  I want to see a pro snowboarder come to my home resort
