Ricky Williams - over the hill or not?Typically a well used RB lasts about 5 years in the NFL. Of course there are exceptions but typically the RB must reinvent themselves as a 3rd down back or 50/50 carries and receptions. Ricky Williams is 31. But are his legs 31? Or are his legs only about 28 years old because they have not had the wear and tear of a typical RB at 31 years of age? Williams has not played a full pro season since 2003: He missed all the 2004 season, played in 12 games in 2005 but started only 3, missed the entire 2006 season and played one game (6 carries) in 2007. If you're looking for a good late round sleeper Ricky could be your man. I'd say take him as your no. 4 RB. If he doesn't pan out, so what? |
