MVP? LeBron James... and it's not even close.

For me, the MVP Race was over before it began. LeBron James had won the MVP before he stepped on the court this season. Frankly, no one else even comes close...

For LeBron James, life is good. He's the superstar of the professional basketball league, the face of the NBA. Teams gameplan to stop him, and just him. The Cleveland Cavaliers are ready to announce the official name change to the Cleveland LeBrons... and appropriately so. LeBron has continued this season where he left off last season. Still unstoppable, still unmovable, LeBron is the most feared played in the NBA under 6'9".

The Most Valuable Player award should go to that one player who can change any game, who can lead his team to a win when down ten with under one minute to go, a player who never gives up, who plays their hardest until the zeroes show up for the final time on the scoreboard, a player with heart. That player is LeBron James.

LeBron has yet to show a weakness. Every essential attribute a basketball player should have, he has. His defense has improved tremendously season after season, and now he truly is a great defender. He can rebound as well as a 7'0" big man, and he can pass as well as a 5'11" point guard. Simply stated, there is nothing LeBron James cannot do. His ability to control the flow of any game is most impressive. He determines how the game will be run, and his teammates follow.

Without LeBron James, it's hard to imagine where the Cleveland Cavaliers would be this season. I cannot remember the last time when there was a player that was as valuable to his team as LeBron is to Cleveland right now. Without him, Cleveland is worthless. With him, Cleveland is a monster waiting to be released from his cage... and when someone opens that cage... the NBA better be ready.

lebron james is not the best player in the league..........Kobe is the best right now lebron still has not added the jumper to his game on a consistent basis.....to be real about D-Wade has been playing right up with Lebron this season

Hi Harst, I agree with you that it's possible that LeBron James may be named to the MVP as long as the Cleveland Cavaliers keep up winning to reach more than 50 wins.  Although the L.A. Lakers and Boston Celtics may have slightly better records than the Cavaliers' record, I still consider Lebron as the best candidate for the MVP award.  Like you've said, it would be so hard to imagine where the Cavaliers would be this season without LeBron.  He is one of this season's top 3 NBA players on my list.  The others are Kobe Bryant and Dwayne Wade.  Excellent job, Harst!

MVP? LeBron James......maybe so..

You know my definition of an MVP? The best player, on the best team, that wins the championship.....everything else is just hype and highlight reels...I'll check back with you in June to see if he's even playing that month...he's due..

I dont know if he is a hands-down winner, but he should get it. There are still some really good players out there that could give him a run for his money. Kobe and Wade come to mind but Kobe is getting old and Wade cant seem to stay healthy. LeBron hasnt really developed a shooting stroke, though. He can score 30 a game, regardless.

Chris Bosh is pretty damn good too. I'm won't agrue against Lebron but there's plenty of guys that are deserving based on the small portion of the season that has been played.

Harst,

Good stuff. How very non-bias of you to say that LeBron James is going to win the MVP. I mean you do have a player named D. Wade on your team. I commend you for not being fogged by your own fandom. I agree, LeBron James is the best player in the league. Kobe Bryant might be the one player that I would rather have the ball at the end of a close game, but when you look at the big picture James is the best player we have seen since you know who.

I like what you said about him rebounding like a 7 footer and passing like a 5'11'' PG. That is what makes him the best. He also slashes like a fleet footed wingman. He is like a whole team in one player and you never which player he is going to be from play to play. How does one defend against that? Scary.
