5 NBA players who may be among the best next year

PG- Rajon Rondo - if he can develop a good shooting touch, Rondo has all the other essential point guard tools to be one of the best in the NBA. lots of haters, but he is a very good all around player, you cannot deny that. His speed and defense are crazy good.

SG- Brandon Roy - if he can polish up his defense a little bit, not much is holding him back from being discussed as the best Shooting guard in the game, along with D-Wade and Kobe.

SF- Andre Iguodala - he has all the tools, if he can get some help from his supporting cast I think he'll have a great year. very athletic player who can do lots on both ends of the floor.

PF- LaMarcus Aldridge - another Blazer who, if he can polish up his D, will be among the best forwards in the game. His offensive game is very impressive, and he'll work hard to pick up on defense.

C- Emeka Okafor - next year is the year he solidifies himself as one of the dominant centers, with help from his team.

5 NBA players who may be among the best next year

i have been a huge brandon roy fan. its a shame that not enough people get to see him or know of his game. he has a complete game in my opinion and is one of the top ten to fifteen players in the league. Agreed, he took a huge step forward this season. Next season I think he'll do even better.

i also think that rondo has raised his game after his playoff performance. Exactly, all he needs to do now is to learn how to shoot a good consistent jump shot.

i have been waiting for iguodala to raise his game on a more consistent level. he has strong games but has difficulties maintaining the level on a consistent basis that's true, but when he's on his game, like you said, he's really good. I have a feeling he'll have a 20-6-7 type year next year, and lead the Phillies to another playoff appearance

not sure that aldridge or okafor are ready to be elite front court players yet. okafor doesn't need to do much, seeing how thin the core of centers is. As for Aldridge, I think he's already there on the offensive end. He just needs improvement on his D.

i am interested to see if carmelo can maintain the dominance he displayed in the playoffs. he has always been a very good player but is he ready to be an mvp candidate? I think he will. Chauncey turned around the franchise, but Melo is still the main man.

Brandon Roy?  I think you're a year late on that one. He's already had a breakout season, but he's not considered by many to be in Wade or Kobe's class just yet. I think after next season he'll start being mentioned as one of the top three best shooting guards, instead of being a step lower than Wade and Bryant.

I like your list. Derrick Rose could be right there with Rajon Rondo. Iggy sometimes reminds me of Scottie Pippen, sometimes. LaMarcus Aldridge reminds me of Tyrus Thomas and I do not want to talk about that other then to say "WHY GOD WHY!" I do not agree on Okafor. I think we all know what he is and I no not see him improving that much more. I think Andris Biedrins or Andrea Bargnani have a better shot at having breakout seasons. Problem is there are so few good Centers in the league anymore.

Brandon Roy?  I think you're a year late on that one.

I disagree, however, on Iggy and Okafor.  Okafor is what he is: a 13-10 guy who plays good defense.  Nothing elite.  Iguodala is too turnover prone to be great.  Elton Brand needs to bounce back next year if the Sixers are going to make some serious noise.
