Lane Kiffin, selfish young man

See! Age is an adjective. Nothing more or less ... Paterno fans.

Anyway ...

I'm not a Lane Kiffin guy. Read me at all, and you know that. I seem to mention it a few times a year month week.

Here's another example.

Not the violation. I don't care about the violation. I don't even care that ESPN helped commit the violation. ESPN was, technically speaking, doing its job. Plus, it's ESPN. ESPN does what ESPN wants. I get it. No problem.

But read at the end of the story where Kiffin gives an explanation about his infamous, and alleged, "gas pumping" comment. Notice the order in which he defends himself: He defends his intelligence before he defends his integrity. Even subliminally, those are his priorities.

Which tells me he's not as smart as he thinks he is. And not as wholesome, either.

By the way, first Dodd, now Doyel....do you guys take turns posing with the sledge?  Or just those of you whose last names start with D?  Is it a phallic symbol, representing something else?  WTF is up with the SLEDGE?!?!?!?!

Lane Kiffin, selfish young man?  Way way wrong on this headline.

It should read Lane Kiffin, too stupid to waste good air on.

Al Davis Does it Better than Gregg Doyel

When it comes to ripping Lane Kiffin, no one does it like the Raiders: “Lane Kiffin is a flat-out liar,” the (Raiders') statement read. “He lied to the team, he lied to the fans, and he lied to the media. He will try to destroy that university like he tried to destroy the Raiders, and will eventually clash with (Pat) Summitt and (Bruce) Pearl. Other than that, the Raiders can say nothing further.”

This is entertaining.  I never liked that obnoxious endzone at Tennessee much anyway.

Lane Kiffin, selfish young man

I would say that Doyle loves Kiffin. If it wasn't for Kiffin, he wouldn't have anything to write about all summer! I bet Doyle wishes he looked like Kiffin and could get a hottie like Kiffin's wife...don't you Doyle? You're obsessed and it's a bit disturbing.

Lane Kiffin, selfish young man

Kiffin is Tennessee's version of Mike Shula and Ron Zook, except Shula and Zook didn't spend every day attempting to run roughshod over the gray areas (as well as the black and white ones) of the NCAA rule book.

It's amazing that with all of the resources Tennessee had at their disposal to land any number of outstanding candidates with proven records of success as head coaches at the Division 1 level, they end up with a young punk with no track record of success as a head coach.

The only things this guy has demonstrated he is good at are misinterpreting NCAA rules, making stupid comments in public, giving coaches at rival schools added incentive to put pinball machine numbers on the scoreboard against Tennessee this fall, and constantly creating a negative perception of his program with the national media.

Kiffin's series of comical mistakes has only served to put added pressure on a talent-challenged roster that would generously be rated in the second division of college football's best conference.

I would be shocked to see this guy last more than three years.

Lane sure is getting the attention brought to his program. Unfortunately it is starting to look bad, very bad and even though he thinks of secondary violations as no big deals, he better watch out. One or two secondary violations are no big deal, but when they keep happening over and over again, someone doesn't understand or is blatantly disregarding the rules. In either instance, there needs to be some consequence for this guy or it will keep happening.

He plays dumb to the media, but lets hope his intelligence is higher than that off camera. If not, UT is in a world of hurt for their football program.

Obsession with Kiffin, jealousy toward ESPN

In one short essay, Doyel manages to combine his obsession with Lane Kiffin (who is admittedly a twit, but not worth obsessing over) with his jealousy of ESPN.  ESPN is the major leagues.  "CBSsports.com" is a half-season class A minor league.  Think of Doyel as a guy riding that minor league bus through North Dakota while he tells everyone he's a better pitcher than Johan Santana will ever be.

It's so cute how you tagged Lane Kiffin along with idiot.

You're the real idiot, Doyel. How you're still writing on this site is beyond me.
