Prince Fielder wasn't fueled by 'roid rage

Right?

I mean, there's no way steroids are to blame for his absolute lack of decorum and composure and sanity? Is there?

Actually Prince Fielder ought to hope that some people blame his meltdown Tuesday night, when he tried to charge Dodgers pitcher Guillermo Mota 15 minutes after being hit by a pitch -- making the charge at Mota inside the Dodgers' clubhouse -- on something as basically simple as 'roid rage.

Because the other options are these:

1. Fielder is a raving lunatic.

2. The whole thing was a front, for show, for street cred.

None of the options is very good, which is why baseball needs to suspend Fielder and make it hurt. It's one thing to charge the pitcher on the mound during the game. That's bad, but it happens -- and more to the point, it is accepted in baseball. Whatever you think of it, and I happen to think it's punk posturing run amok, charging the mound is allowed.

Charging a clubhouse door is not.

Fielder can't get away with this. I don't care if it's been done before, by other players, in the past. It cannot be done now. And it cannot be done ever again in the future.

This is baseball. Not a bar brawl.

Fielder should pay. Ten games, maybe more.

And pee into a cup, son.

Doyel is running out of things to write about

Which is why Gregg Doyel joins millions of idiot fans in bringing the 'roid' term in with a player he obviously doesn't like.  How about 2 outs in the 9th being down 13 runs as a reason (obvious)...  How about that it was conspired to be him.

If you were a responsible journalist you'd ask- "Why was he even in the game down 13 runs knowing this would happen??", instead of fueling the biggest black eye of a sport whose very existence you need in order to be the leech that you are...

CBS has simply been way off its game recently in so many ways....

tortnasty (one of the more idiotic names on here), you have to be the biggest freaking waste of air still walking. No heart for the Dodgers, huh?  I call plunking their big guy, like they did yours,an eye for an eye, having heart.  You are too frigging stupid to see it.  I hope and pray the first time Fat A$$ comes up tonight he either hits the dirt or takes one in the ear hole.

" if I'm correct, this is a defamation lawsuit waiting to happen." - Positive Hype

Luckily for Doyel, you are not correct.  Show me a false statement of fact.  All I see is Gregg's opinion, clearly stated as such.  You apparently know very little about legal issues.  Doyel's legal roots are deep and he's not dumb enough to make the kind of mistake you mistakingly accuse him of; he's not getting fired because of libel.  Ever.

The one thing we do legitimately know is that Guillermo Mota has used steroids before. Tongue out

You pointed it out before I did. This is in no way a defamation of character. The courts are 99.9% unlikely to read between the lines and since Doyel never directly said "I know Prince Fielder is using steroids," then he, nor CBS due to their disclaimer for writers, is not liable.

You know Doyel does bring up one thing that should be considered. For every altercation a player is involved in they should be drug tested.
