LeGarrette Blount of Oregon, I mean. He's a young Pacman Jones. Is that a good thing?

Of course it's not a good thing.

He didn't just lose his cool Thursday night when he sucker-punched a Boise State player after the game. He became completely unhinged. He forgot where he was, who he was, and where he wants to go. And if he plays again this season, shame on Oregon coach Chip Kelly.

(Here's the video!)

A season-long suspension is a stiff, stiff penalty to pay for a college football player, especially a senior. But Blount has to go. A player cannot sucker-punch another player after the game, and then make it worse by trying to go all Ron Artest on the crowd. If it weren't for the police who stopped him, Blount would have been in the crowd making (punches) rain.

This might not be a bad guy, but that was a despicable show. And he has to go.

And if Chip Kelly doesn't see that, well, maybe Chip Kelly has to go as well.

Both players should be suspended for a game. Why do you think Coach peterson was over there trying to stop his player from taunting the opposing team. When the BSU player up the ante and slapped the Oregon player the match was lit. As coach Peterson said on ESPN this morning we had won and should have kept our mouth shut and walked away. Not condoning what Blount did, but the classless Bronco should not have been provoking after an emotional game. Pretend like you know what it is like to win and just walk off the field.

He went out of his way to taunt him and got jacked up!!!    I see nothing wrong with it.  Maybe the fool will leave his helmet on the next time he runs his mouth.Pacman Jones is in the house, everyone.

What I am saying is that we need to rember that these are children on the field not MEN. They are still learning-this is why when they leave the playing field...they go to class...

When exactly do these children become MEN? Is this something magical that happens when they graduate?  LB isn't a child because he is still learning and attending class.  He is a child because of his actions.

Its not assault, because the guy had it coming.  he obviously said something that made him angry, but I do think it is a good idea to suspend him for the whole season

Actually, with the statement of 'they have to' you have pointed out the real reason.  In high school it's parents and in college it's boosters.  "Coach win now or you're fired!"  Few coaches have enough cache to stand up to these morons who think they know better and could care less if they have thugs and semi-literates on 'their' team as long as they win.

By the way, those of you who think that the Boise State player could file charges against Blount and not get charges filed against him are ignorant of the law. The standard for bringing a battery claim against someone is extremely low. For example, spitting is considered battery in most if not all jurisdictions and you could be charged with a misdemeanor for spitting on someone, even though it doesn't cause physical injury. Battery is generally defined as "ANY offensive touching or contact". The fact of the matter is, Boise State isn't gonna do crap to Blount and neither will that player, or they'll just find themselves in a world of litigation and expert opinions about violence in football.

In my opinion, it doens't matter if someone was talking trash before or during a game. That tends to happen. Guys get jacked up emotionally and the game is physical. However, after a game is over the losers go home humiliated and the winners raise their flag and cheer and celebrate with their fans. That is how the game goes. If you are on the winning side, I don't care what happened before the game. You don't grab a player on th elosing side and get in his face and rub in some more humiliation. That is the height of classlessness. That is why his coach yelled at him, because it was absolutely stupid. If anyone is the thug in this thing, it is the Boise State player who doesn't have class and doesn't know how to handle victory with dignity. This is a physical game we are talking about here. This is not ballroom dancing. People who are so shocked at what Blount did are pu$$ies who have never played football at any level. You think this is just some cute little game. No, this is a hard hitting game and guys put it all on the line on the field. You grab some guy after a game who is defeated and start rubbing it in, you better expect to be clocked and you can take it like a man or cry and whimper like so many of these wussies are.

How stupid are you?  Blount has been talking trash all summer and goes out and lays an egg.  Chokes big time.  Then sucker punches a guy who reminds him that he is an idiot and back peddles like a coward after the punch.  I hope some one sucker punches you and see if you "see nothing wrong with it".  Big difference between words and hitting some one unless you are moron.

Numerous reports state that Blount not only made public comments about how Oregon was gong to put an "a$$ whupppin" on Boise State but also that Blount continued to talk trash both before and during the game. While the Boise State player should have been a better man than Blount and kept his mouth shut (in fact I think he should be suspended for one game), Blount proved what a pu$$y he is because not only did he "run" for negative five yards on 13 carries against Boise State, he couldn't take a very small dose of the same BS that he was dishing out all game. What a little beotch. He is gone for the season. Think of how much money this fool just cost himself??!! All because he is a little smack talking girl who decided to wait until the Boise State player turned his back to sucker punch him.
